Kansas City, Kansas, detectives said they did not find human remains at a home where Star Boomer once lived. Boomer vanished in 1999.Investigators said they reached the area they were working to get to and did not find any evidence.Police started excavating the property after receiving a tip from a witness who saw Boomer at a nearby bar the night she disappeared.

Grain Valley man gets life sentence for wife's murder

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Grain Valley man found guilty of murdering his estranged wife was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole, according to Clay County prosecutors. In September, jurors found 70-year-old Larry Ratliff guilty of stabbing Carolyn Ratliff, 65, to death on Jan. 4, 2016.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - A man is facing charges after managing to escape from the Heartland Center for Behavioral Change. According to court documents, 29-year-old Tyron B. Berry escaped by running out an open door on Dec. 4. A staff member began chasing him, so Berry stopped and said he would stop running.

A staff member found the noose, which was made from a shoestring, in a boys restroom around 11 a.m., the district said in a message to parents.

Saettone II, has been charged with 2nd Degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of another man during an attempted burglary of an Independence apartment according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker. Court records detail the events on September 22, 2019 that led to the death of Robert Shinneman.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Healing Pathway Victim Service Agency will host its 7th annual Christmas event for children of local homicide victims. Healing Pathways says hundreds of children will receive gifts this year. The event starts at noon at the Kansas City Police Department south patrol division. Mayor Quinton Lucas will be attending.
