Kansas City Name Game Explained, Again

The public TV smarty-pants crew offer up a bit of local history that's actually just a remake of this much more popular video from a couple of years ago . . .

Why Kansas City is (Mostly) in Missouri

Still, this homespun version offers just a bit more local flavor for late night denizens . . .

"If you’ve ever struggled to explain to an out-of-town visitor why there’s a Kansas City in Missouri and not just Kansas, you’ve come to the right place."

That place is TKC but we'll be nice and offer a bit of help to "journalists" who live mostly on handouts from the government and viewers like you.

Take a look:

Hopefully, more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

Get over yourself, Cletus. Crackers like you love eating squirrel brains. Deplorables get semi-hard running through the tree lines shooting juicy tree rats with AR-15s. And when there ain’t no vermin in sight, your ilk conduct angry “lone wolf” mass killings! MAGA!

  13. There is a tale, often repeated, that in the mid-1800s, the "Territory Of Kansas" scraped together $50,000 and sent an eminent member of their Political Leadership back to Washington to attempt to get the Kansas-Missouri State Line moved twenty miles eastward.

Unfortunately, while on his journey, this Family Man and highly respected member of Kansas Society met an "actress", and didn't stop in Washington, but instead took her with him to Paris, where they both remained until their deaths.

I've read this in several sources, but I remain skeptical, since the tale requires on to believe that there existed $50,000 in the Territory or in the later State at some time prior to 1940.
