Courthouse Fix Underway

County takes up work at courthouse

Jackson County is a step closer to fixing the Downtown Courthouse elevators that have been a headache for officials since flooding in the building early this year. The County Legislature is set to vote next Monday on a $6.36 million contract with the Schindler Elevator Corporation of Kansas City, the sole bidder for the work.

  7. Hey dumbass @ 8:12, Really? You have a problem with a requirement for someone to work just 20 hours a week to earn their public subsidy? Doesn't say how much they have to make but just make the effort. Even that is waived in areas with over 6% unemployment.
