Kansas City East Side Streets Stay Losing

Take a look at more complaints from the urban core regarding the dearth of city services for neighborhoods . . . Thing of its, our friends in "upscale" parts of town echo some of the same sentiments.

KC snow removal focuses on the most heavily trafficked routes and for years side-streets have been on their own. Read more:

'It's horrible': Neighbors in KC's 3rd District say they're still waiting for streets to be cleared

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It's not technically winter, but it certainly looked and felt like it recently in Kansas City, and much of the snow still remains. Road conditions on many streets around the metro are continuing to frustrate drivers.

  1. The sun will be shining. We have shitty 3rd District Council Reps. One is a nepotism recipient and the other has let his ego, inarticulate, ghetto activism go to his head. We dont have leaders in the 3rd district, we have whoever is next in line at the public trough.

  2. 3rd districts overwhelming numbers of unemployed do not need the streets cleared. If its such a big deal grab a shovel in between swallows, hits or tv shows.

  3. 6:23AM STFU Ok. We hear you. You think Eastside doesn’t deserve any investment because you don’t like the people. Truth is, most people on the Eastside are employed, pay taxes (like everybody else) and we don’t get anywhere near the service we should because there are people in positions of authority at the City/County/State level, including the politicians that represent this demographic, that do not demand that Eastsiders be treated equally from a City service stand point. I have owned property in Kansas City’s Eastside for nearly 12 years and it’s hard to get trash picked up. I shovel my walk, mow my grass, paint and care for my property’s maintenance and upkeep. The least the City could do is pick up the trash on a consistent basis and maintain their roads... I’m talking bare minimum but we can’t even get that. So, your limited thinking, labeling, disparaging, etc... this must be how you feel about yourself. It’s not a reflection of who we are in the 3rd District.

  4. 6:45 do you live in the real east side or the fake ghetto east side because the real east side nevar gets their streets cleared, trash picked up or leaf and brush picked up on any type of regular schedule, it’s like, hey, let’s skip the real east side for I don’t know a couple weeks or a month or so, they have more money than the fake eastsiders do they can figure it out on their own. The real east side the one that goes all the way to independence and Lee’s summit is always always always getting screwed over to kiss the fake eastsiders ass’s why? Black that’s why. I don’t want to hear your whiny ass complaints, you’re fake news.

Eric "Spandex" Bunch ensured the bike lanes were cleared of snow and in pristine condition. Residents should be very happy they have cleared bike lanes.

  6. The good thing about living just off Ward Pkwy is the city actually tries to fix the potholes and remove the snow. Not as good as Joco, but way better than the rest of Kansas City.
