Kansas City Artist Exhibits White Guilt

It's either a savvy ploy to keep up the election 2020 cultural zeitgeist OR sorry pitch for some local publicity.

Money line:

"Once I began to know the depth and darkness of my family's history," he says, "I simply began to try to come up with a mechanism to tell it." That mechanism is a new memoir, "Whiteout," and a companion zine with collages of photographs and newspaper clippings.

'I Had To Tell The Truth' - Kansas City Artist Exposes His Family's Role In The Racist South

Artist Hugh Merrill, who is white, had troubling memories from what he saw growing up in the Jim Crow South of the 1950s and '60s. And when he started looking into his family history, he was shocked by what he found out.

Congratulations on choosing to be born white.

    You clearly are superior.

American History is a scathing indictment of the white race.

Slavery was wrong, & the fact that the slave owners were all Christians shows that their religion is just a empty, dog & pony show.

  4. What does the Democratic Party and Slavery have in common ? Boat load after boat of Slaves.

  5. @ 1:30

Slave owners weren't all Christians. And all Christians, of course, didn't own slaves.

If you hate Christians, so be it, but don't intoxicate yourself with lies to anneal your hatred.

  6. Fascinating...

Now who was it that sold said slaves to white Europeans again? Oh yeah, that would have been Black African Muslim slavers, that's who.

Funny we forget that in all of this 'guilt'.

  7. ^^and yet we don't because it was us who they were sold to, so we're just as guilty. Weird.

  8. 2:55 “Us” I don’t think so moron. Weird.

  9. I’m curious, what was the percentage of slave owners in this country during slavery? You people act like every person in the untied states was a slave owner. You people are quick to point out that every white person is guilty when I’m betting the actual slave owners was about ten percent of the country but yet every white person on the face of the earth is guilty. To hell with you losers.

  10. “About 600,000 slaves were transported to America, or 5% of the 12 million slaves taken from Africa. About 310,000 of these persons were imported into the Thirteen Colonies before 1776: 40% directly and the rest from the Caribbean.”

Where did the rest of the 11.4 million go? Where’s the outrage for these slaves?

  11. This guy's white guilt means nothing without frequent self flagellation. Please post the photos when he gets around to that.

  12. What happened was bad but I don't understand why this guy would have one ounce of white guilt after all he didn't do anything did he? Don't shove in the white people's face what happened years ago by some relatives.

But the funny part is.....these same black people voted for Hillary Clinton who's dad was a Klan member and Hillary supported the Klan in Arkansas while her mentor was Robert Byrd. Now that's f***ing funny. BULL S**T to this woe is me propaganda.

Self-hatred is a form of mental illness. Low-tier retarded liberal boomers are predisposed to this malady.

  17. 3:46 there isn't any outrage because other countries tell todays blacks to STFU you ain't getting shit from us. But here in America we are suppose to bend over backwards and cuddle the hateful black man. But you numbers are not correct. Only a little more than 300,000 captives, or 4-6 percent, came to the United States. The majority of enslaved Africans went to Brazil, followed by the Caribbean. Slavery was not unique to the United States; it is a part of almost every nation’s history, from Greek and Roman civilizations to contemporary forms of human trafficking. Roughly 25 percent of all Southerners owned slaves. The fact that one-quarter of the southern population were slaveholders is still shocking to many. This truth brings historical insight to modern conversations about inequality and reparations. So just a few families in the whole picture had slaves so not every white person was or had family that owned slaves.

  18. Good post, 7:49. Our ancestors had slaves in VA and SC, but I’m not ashamed of it; it was just part of the global landscape then.

To the AA, if you look white you should pay! It doesn't matter about any proof that your bloodline owned slaves or not. You're white, so you owe! And it doesn't matter that the AA has any whites in his/her family tree; that doesn't count! You owe, and will always owe! AAs are owed, and will always be owed! Regardless if they came to the USA after slavery. Regardless that they had slaveowners in their family tree!
You should always pay. It will never end.
