KANSAS CITY 2019 HOMICIDE #142: DEADLY SNOW DAY GUNFIRE!!!

The latest addition to the local murder count as KANSAS CITY IS NOW ONLY 11 HOMICIDES AWAY FROM AN ALL-TIME RECORD HIGH . . .

"The incident was reported just before 1 p.m. near NE 49th Street and North Euclid Ave. When officers arrived on scene they found a man shot inside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS."

Here's the roundup and more deets:

KMBC: Kansas City police investigating fatal shooting in 2000 block of Northeast 49th Street

KSHB: One man shot to death Sunday afternoon in the Northland

Fox4: Police say one man has been taken into custody.

Earlier in the day there was a bit of confusion about the NKC vs. KCMO murder locale of the killing but one of our readers rightly informed us that "the location is a group of Section 8 Apartments in KCMO."

And so this one counts on the KC side as the murder number continues to rise.

  3. 16 days left in December to bust the record? No problem.

  4. Nothing stops Kansas City violence. Rain, sleet, snow or hail... nothing stops KC Violence except death. Maybe build a police station on this block and throw out all the homeowners there. That will solve crime. Clay County representing!

  5. At 49th and Euclid do you really have to ask who did it?

  6. 6:45pm Maybe you’re directionally challenged... this happened in Clay County - Kansas City North.

  7. KCMO in Clay County has hundreds and hundreds of units set aside for Section 8, although the whiners at City Hall always complain that we don't have enough to carry our fair share of the load. That complex is across the street from two other complexes that also house the disadvantaged. Our schools up here are loaded with under-achieving kids. Southwestern Clay County is full of poor people, and we'll gladly share with the moneyed class near the northern edge of the county.

  9. I think your misrepresenting the area. Although there surely are Sec.8 renters, the complexes in the area are not totally Sec.8. I have lived in the area pretty much my whole life and it is still a quiet area with low crime. I don't think there's been a murder in that area since the mafia settled a problem with another mobster back in the 60's/70's.
