JACKSON COUNTY PROPERTY TAX DEADLINE LOOMS DESPITE LEGAL CHALLENGES AND VOTER OUTRAGE!!!
The hour is at hand. Local homeowners are now forced to pay dearly for the mistakes committed inside the Jackson County courthouse.

We can debate the merits of this massive tax increase but it is a matter of fact and the public record that the debacle took place under the watch of Jackson County Executive Frank White and Director of Assessment Gail McCann Beatty.
Here's one story out of many which reveals that the rules were not followed amid this controversy.

For starters, both attorneys said there's no evidence that Jackson County followed Missouri law and conducted a physical inspection of the properties. Such an inspection is required if a county raises the assessed value more than 15%.
"We don't even know that they drove by," AN ATTORNEY said. "It appeared they were just pulling comps."
In fact, THE ATTORNEY said Jackson County staff appeared to admit as much to him.
Let's not forget that the ACLU has also started a court fight over claims of bias.
And another well-documented complaint argues that the Courthouse disobeyed the rules and skipped Missouri mandated physical inspections for property tax increases over 15.9%.
Legal arguments were formulated after protesters repeatedly marched on courthouse steps and TENS OF THOUSANDS OF HOMEOWNERS APPEALED THEIR ASSESSMENTS.
The County is still in the in the process of answering those complaints.
Nevertheless . . .
The bill deadline remains as Jackson County homeowners scrape funds together in order to pay the disproportionate tax increase that will ultimately drive hundreds if not thousands of locals from their homes.
