Impeachment Proceedings Against Prez Trump As Seen From Kansas City

This historic hot mess is too important to just ignore and cast aside for national news outlets or local newsies who only really care about their makeup.

There are a few local angles for this one if only because our Democratic Party stronghold in the urban core seems enthusiastic along Ward Parkway & Brookside even if nobody else really cares . . . Meanwhile, the battle for hearts and minds in JoCo is more intense as drunk uncles confront angry aunties for control of the discourse whilst the nextgen simply enjoys their Chinese social media tech spyware.

And so, we share some of our favorite news items on the topic for this morning . . .

Real Fight Is About Process

Senate braces for brawl on Trump impeachment rules

Senate Majority Leader (R-Ky.) and Minority Leader (D-N.Y.) will try to negotiate a deal on ground rules, similar to the arrangement made before the 1999 trial of then-President Clinton. Talks haven't started yet, as lawmakers wait for the House to write and vote on any articles of impeachment.

Beltway Smackdown

Clash expected at House Judiciary briefing on report about Trump's dealings with Ukraine - impeachment latest

WASHINGTON - Another partisan clash in the House impeachment inquiry is expected Monday as the Judiciary Committee receives a briefing about two reports: one report from three other panels that found President Donald Trump solicited foreign interference in the 2020 election, and another about the constitutional basis for impeachment.

Republican Dedication

The GOP wall: Why Republicans won't walk away from Trump

WASHINGTON - Late in the afternoon of Aug. 7, 1974, Republican leaders in Congress traveled up Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House to deliver a stark message to Richard Nixon: His presidency was over. The public had turned on Nixon as evidence emerged about his role in the Watergate scandal and the bottom fell out once his own party abandoned him.

NECKBEARD OUTBURST!!!

WATCH: Massive Disruption at Impeachment Hearing

The House Judiciary Committee's second hearing on the Donald Trump impeachment inquiry was instantly derailed on Monday when a supporter of the president launched a protest at the start of the proceedings. As Jerry Nadler (D-NY) called the hearing to order and began his opening statement, Infowars host Owen Shroyer started yelling at the committee chairman, accused him treason and blasted the "impeachment scam."

Making The Case

Dems present evidence as Trump's impeachment fast approaches

The impeachment of President Donald Trump is almost at hand. House Democrats are just days away from unveiling formal charges that Trump abused his power, and on Monday they presented their case to Americans that he deserves to be removed from office for it. "The evidence shows that Donald J.

Conspiracy Redux

A protester from the conspiracy site InfoWars interrupted the latest impeachment hearing as soon as it began, shouting 'Trump is innocent!'

A protester who works for right-wing news outlet InfoWars, which traffics in conspiracy theories, interrupted the first minutes of Monday's impeachment hearing by yelling loudly in the hearing room. "We know who committed the crimes and it wasn't Trump. Trump is innocent!" the protester, Owen Shroyer, yelled as he was escorted out of the hearing room.

Former 1st Lady Conclusion

Michelle Obama speaks out on impeachment proceedings: 'It's surreal'

Michelle Obama views the impeachment proceedings involving President Donald Trump as "surreal," but believes the nation can make it through the current political turmoil. The former first lady gave her thoughts on the impeachment inquiry in an exclusive interview with Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY Monday during a trip to Vietnam to raise awareness about the importance of educating young girls.

As always, we welcome predictions, insight and all manner of comments from "many sides" of this truly American circus.

  4. What is the Democratic Party today? Well, it’s the cheerleading squad for “seventeen” government agencies that add up to the craftily-labeled “intel community,” a warm-and-fuzzy coalition of snoops, false witnesses, rogue lawfare cadres, seditionists, and bad-faith artists working sedulously to hide their previous misdeeds with ever-fresh ones. They’re the party against free speech, the party against due process of law, the party determined to provoke war with Russia. They’re the party of sexual confusion, sexual hysteria, and sexual conflict, the party of kangaroo courts, cancel culture, erasing boundaries (including national borders), and of making up rules for all that as they go along — like the Nazis and Soviets used to do. The ideas and policies they advocate are so comprehensively crazy that their old support of slavery looks quaintly straightforward in comparison.

  5. It goes to the Senate, and the Senate acquits. Those who liked Trump before impeachment will continue to support him. Those who hated him before impeachment will continue to condemn him.

It's a total waste of time, and 100% political.

Barring any hard evidence - not opinion and supposition, but evidence - this nonsense does not move the dial one iota in terms of election odds. That is all going to come down to the eventual Dem candidate (and so far, it's a pretty sad field).

  6. Not a lick of proof...suppositions, assertions, hearsay from people who don't know Trump, lies.

This is firing up the GOP base and bringing independents in droves to the trump and GOP in 2020 because it's obvious the the dems should never be allowed to hold power

Get it threw your heads we are not globalists and you will not put us in a life of poverty and dictatorship. Michelle Obama is a thief who stole millions from a hospital and she's pissed she can't do that anymore she's just a dumb TYPICAL BLACK women who did more harm than good. If in indeed, this is what the Democrats/Deep State/Main Stream Media are pressing forward with, than we are living in a Salvador Dali Painting in more ways than one. Specifically the "Soft Construction With Boiled Beans Premonition Of Civil War".

The organizations, people, politicians, administrators, legislators, "journalists" et al, who have engaged in illegal, unethical, immoral and self destructive searches for unavailable and non-existent information which supposedly would justify this Bizzaro Superman World where a two tiered justice system seeks the annihilation of their opponents by whatever means necessary will bring us to war.

Insanity is understandable, but the expectation that there is no one to dispute the categorical facts that indict the Media/Deep State/Democrats for doing EXACTLY, IN SPADES, WHAT THEY ARE ACCUSING Republicans of, is sick, sick, sick.

There was no spying on the Trump Campaign, no evidence of a deep state conspiracy, and NO corruption of the FBI and DOJ leaders. There was NO evidence of political bias in the opening of the Russia investigation. The narrative is destroyed. The smear campaign failed, They way has been cleared for a third article of obstruction of justice. He is DONE! Bye Donnie. Will Trump apologize for the smears and lies? Further, what will chuck use now that the deep-state has been debunked?

Donald Trump committed treason when he tried to coerce a foreign government into making a public announcement that his political opponent was being investigated for corruption.

Proof? - Trump confessed on live television on the White House lawn. Then he did it again!

The person who disrupted the hearing said that Obama should be lynched. That's Trump's base.

That is why we must hold our investigators and prosecutors to the highest ethical and professional standards. The Inspector General’s investigation has provided critical transparency and accountability, and his work is a credit to the Department of Justice. I would like to thank the Inspector General and his team.

The Inspector General’s report now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken. It is also clear that, from its inception, the evidence produced by the investigation was consistently exculpatory. Nevertheless, the investigation and surveillance was pushed forward for the duration of the campaign and deep into President Trump’s administration. In the rush to obtain and maintain FISA surveillance of Trump campaign associates, FBI officials misled the FISA court, omitted critical exculpatory facts from their filings, and suppressed or ignored information negating the reliability of their principal source. The Inspector General found the explanations given for these actions unsatisfactory. While most of the misconduct identified by the Inspector General was committed in 2016 and 2017 by a small group of now-former FBI officials, the malfeasance and misfeasance detailed in the Inspector General’s report reflects a clear abuse of the FISA process.

You could probably write a psychology text book on these people.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well, when that text is written, what will be said about the utter derangement of those who can't accept the results of a free and fair election?

The problem with you having only one argument (i.e. Trump people are deranged, conspiracy, blahs blah) is that it runs both ways very easily. The Dems have given a clinic on conspiracy hoaxes, and their psychology can't accept anything else. Take these silly show trial hearings for instance.

The added weakness of your position is that it relies on the strawman of thinking that anyone who opposes the current insane dysfunction in the Democratic party must be a Trump supporter. False, and demonstrated to be false, time and time again.

So you're entitled to your Orange Man Bad psychosis. Just don't mistake it for an actual argument.

It's bad news for everyone, left or right, if something as serious and as secret as a FISA warrant is mishandled or weaponized. That's why the Horowitz report is going to be more fully analyzed for some time. It's also why some people are going to face charges--real criminal charges--for how they behaved.
