Tonight we share info and insight into our Kansas City snowbound predicament.

There was a ALLEGEDLY a record set at the airport but Midtown snow seems pretty typical . . .

We look and listen closely there's very few people on the street. There are constant warning from authorities and constant advice to stay off the roads.

We'll know more tomorrow but for right now here's a look at this cowtown cancelled for Monday:

Snow forces delays, cancellation Sunday night, Monday AM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UPDATE 9 PM | More than 200 have been announced in the Kansas City metro. In Kansas, Gov. Laura Kelly declared an inclement weather event and ordered a delayed start for non-essential employees in Shawnee County on Monday. State offices will be closed from midnight to 10 a.m.

Wrecks close parts of I-70 after snow falls across region

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - A major winter storm moving across the region is expected to drop roughly 6 inches of snow on parts of Kansas and Missouri, and the storm is already causing travel problems. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a section of westbound Interstate 70 near Manhattan closed Sunday morning after a crash involving three semitrailer trucks and two other vehicles blocked the road.

Multiple metro school districts closed Monday due to snowy weather

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Multiple school districts have announced Sunday evening that classes will be canceled for Monday due to snowy weather. The snow began falling in some areas just before 7 a.m. in some areas. More snow is expected to fall on Monday and with people heading back to work, there could be issues on the roadways come Monday morning.

Eastern Jackson County schools cancel Monday classes

Sunday's heavy snow caused many school districts - including Independence, Blue Springs. Fort Osage, Grain Valley and Lee's Summit - to cancel classes for Monday. Snow much of the day Sunday left roughly half a foot in parts of Eastern Jackson County, and another round of snow was expected Monday.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Snow blanketed the Kansas City metro on Sunday as thousands of fans packed inside Arrowhead Stadium, while others stayed home or enjoyed the conditions in their neighborhood. And the snow brought out mixed emotions in the area. Josh LaSalle called it "refreshing."

MoDOT warns 2nd round of winter weather may affect Monday commute

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Winter weather conditions will continue through Sunday night, and a second round of mixed precipitation is expected to spread across much of Missouri early Monday morning and continue throughout the day. The Missouri Department of Transportation is recommending that people delay their Monday morning commute or stay home if possible.

  4. We got six inches in Topeka, packable powder, it was easy to clear sidewalks. Streets are clear just from traffic, which kept moving. So what's the big deal in KC? Hasn't the city figured out what snow is, or that it seems to snow every winter for some odd reason? 18 years ago, when I left, they still hadn't figured it out.

  7. The presiding judge won't shut down the jackson county courthouse. He doesn't care about the risks involved in getting there...hello, he doesn't even trust lawyers with KCMBA passes to enter the courthouse without being scanned twice.

  8. yes, the fools were out in force yesterday. Tiny front wheel drive cars sliding to and fro while I in my big tough 4x4 was cruising at the posted speed limit from town to town looking at Christmas lights.
