TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! JACKSON COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICE FUNDING CUTBACKS JUST IN TIME FOR HARSH HOLIDAY SEASON!!!

Residents are undergoing the worst of times in Jackson County this year and, tragically, there's no help on the way.

To wit . . .

INSIDERS WARN OF SOCIAL SERVICE FUNDING CUTBACKS IN JACKSON COUNTY STARTING WITH LESS MONEY FOR GUADALUPE CENTER AND DON BOSCO!!!

Of course this blog would never try to guess the motivation for this move BUT the denizens of the courthouse are far more bold in their analysis . . .

"This is pure political retribution. The Frank White Administration has been getting a lot of resistance from The Westside and Northeast, so these cuts are just amateurish attempts at reprisal. What's sad is that they're targeting the elderly and the most vulnerable in the community. This looks even worse when the current Administration is paying top dollar for new hires like Troy Schulte and all of Frank's staff."

To be fair, we're hearing about cuts across the board and many East side organizations which also serve the less fortunate during the holidays are now drawing fewer funds from the Courthouse.

And so . . . The safety net in the KCMO area slowly disappears whilst the Jackson County waits for a cash influx in what has become the greatest tax increase in Kansas City history.

Developing . . .

    1. Typical Frank. He'll be playing golf on every nice day for the next few years and everybody else is going to be looking for a real estate agent to sell their house at bargain basement prices.

  4. Guys, gals, trans peeps, whatevers...

You are missing a tremendous opportunity here. Sure, the poor and middle class will likely be wiped out this Christmas season following the massive increases in property taxes that were foisted upon them. But, in three years, there will be a tremendous glut of tax foreclosed properties for sale on the County Courthouse steps. So save your money and prepare!

  5. Eastside organizations? What would that be. If you’re talking about Black churches they don’t need the funding anyway and rarely goes towards it’s intended cause. With the population decline and attendance decline in Black churches, the county should be funding these groups anyway. Let them earn their stripes. Put that so-called faith to work for a change.

  17. At this point we really need to be talking about replacing Frank White as County Executive and starting a recall petition.

Does any body know if Clay Chastain wants to put his skills to use on this, he would be doing the city a great service.
