With respect to hottie Jordan, here's a late night cultural note for our beloved night owl and shift worker pals:
Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and helping support their spiritual journey. In Mexican culture, death is viewed as a natural part of the human cycle. Mexicans view it not as a day of sadness but as a day of celebration because their loved ones awake and celebrate with them.
This year international drug cartel killings hit the metro in full force and Kansas City confronts a historic murder spike. And so the holiday seems even more, sadly, apropos . . . Meanwhile, we hope elected leaders and authorities devise new strategies to address the rising violence whilst Mexican death culture gains traction amid American demographic evolution despite border wall work.
To wit, we share this strangely hopeful playlist filled with song about death in order to help us more greatly appreciate this life.

I seen the cemetarys in Mexico. They have huge houses and shrines inside there to bury people in. and statues to the death "God". An abunch of cartel related decorations. Its really gross. People will be dead soon enough, why celebrate it? especially because most people will be going to hell. hell is the absence of anything you like or want. There is not one drop of water (or anything to drink) in heaven. Read the Bible. make sure you don't go there.

They don't ask why they are there, when they are getting out, or if they can make things right. They know those answers already. So their smallest request of a drop of water is turned down. Mexicans worship the Saint of Death. They don't realize he is Satan, Their dead do not come back to hang out with them on the celebrations days. How unbiblical!
