TKC QUESTION: HOW DOES PREZ TRUMP IMPEACHMENT PLAY IN KANSAS CITY?!?!

Tonight we share a quick review of impeachment impact on our local political elite as we slouch toward 2020 and as the proceedings dominate the national discourse.

Congressman Cleaver - Another challenge from Jacob Turk or the progressive socialist in the primary isn't going change things in Missouri's 5th Congressional District. In the meantime, the former KCMO Mayor is worth watching because his impeachment stance is most representative of the Democratic Party establishment.

Rep. Sharice Davids - She has been gun-shy on the impeachment debate despite her constituents pushing harder for Heartland resistance. She's probably too cautious and has been working harder to reinforce her branding than join THE SQUAD or step up in the fight against Prez Trump.

SecState Pompeo - Progressives are frustrated that SecState Pompeo isn't enduring much damage from the troubles of Prez Trump. Meanwhile, Conservative Kansans know what it's like to work a crappy job and seem to be separating him from foibles of his boss.

Kris Kobach - This alt-right hopeful has hitched his star to the Prez Trump party train. It hasn't really helped him so far and Prez Trump affiliation seems like a long shot to power his hopes for the Senate.

And so we put it to you . . .

HOW WILL PREZ TRUMP IMPEACHMENT DRAMA PLAY IN KANSAS CITY AS 2020 ELECTION SEASON APPROACHES?!?!

Meanwhile, Democratic Party hopefuls and Republican leaders use Prez Trump as the cornerstone of their campaigns with mixed results.

An Interview With the Woman Who Strongly Needed Her Coffee During a Live Impeachment Hearing

Tuesday's award for the most amusing diversion from the minutia of the impeachment hearings goes to McClatchy congressional reporter Emma Dumain, who went minorly viral for chugging coffee with great enthusiasm in the background as Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman testified. It really was some chug!

No Friends In Politics

The most damaging impeachment leaks have come from Trump's own allies

A key part of this week's drama is likely to center on an overheard phone call from Trump to European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland, who's scheduled to testify on Wednesday morning. David Holmes, political counsel at the U.S.

Was it a bribe? Democrats trade 'quid quo pro' for 'bribery' in Trump impeachment messaging

WASHINGTON - Minutes after Rep. Adam Schiff gaveled in Tuesday'simpeachment inquiry hearing, the Californian began hammering away at an emerging Democratic theme: that President Donald Trump's actions may have amounted to bribery. "If the president abused his power and invited foreign interference in our elections, if he sought to condition, coerce, extort, or bribe an ally ...

GOP Tough Talk

Nunes keeps referring to the impeachment hearing as a "drug deal." It's not as clever as he thinks.

On two separate occasions during Tuesday's impeachment hearings, House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes (R-CA) derisively referred to the impeachment inquiry as a "drug deal" - a turn of phrase meant to depict Democrats as being up to something illicit.

Network Opt Out

CBS first major TV network to bail on impeachment hearings

CBS on Tuesday became the first big television network to hit the breaks on wall-to-wall coverage of the impeachment hearings. The network ended their special report of the hearings around 12:20 p.m., amid Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman's testimony - though coverage continued on it's news app and digital platform, CBSN.

  1. Impeachment is a dud for the Democrats. Maybe it won't backfire on them but it won't help them as much as they thought.

    1. ^^^ Not so sure about the backfire comment.

Americans hate time wasters. If nothing comes of it, and it's looking like nothing will, they're going down and obstructionist route that could hurt them down the road.

The "Impeachment" hasn't started yet. This is just the House investigating whether Articles of Impeachment should be drawn up. The Impeachment begins when the House Judicial Committee draws up the Articles of Impeachment. Then the full House will vote on whether to approve the articles. If approved, then a trial will be held in the Senate.

This is Congress doing their job.

We will see if the Senate does their job.

  6. Sorry Funk.
The wall is being built, businesses are hiring beyond expectations due to tax cuts, 401ks skyrocket, Blacks working now more than ever, newspapers going under due to fake ness (public has no need)- THAT is the result of Not Democrats, but Republicans doing their job.

Adam Shit and Nancy are relying on hearsay and third party info on what President Trump already provided in the form of transcription- to waste time and tax payer money. I have seen so many young people promise to help Republicans in 2020 as a result of this.

Make no mistake- Adams shitshow will hurt Dems. Fox News ratings have gone through the roof in record ratings as the lying libs networks have had ratings drops.

No one is above the law and California will soon be seen as the folly of Pelosi.
