TKC MUST SEE!!! KC TENANTS 'BILL OF RIGHTS' SPARKS CALL TO ACTION AMID KANSAS CITY HOUSING CRISIS!!!

More important than any of this . . . Behind the scenes and nearly out of sight of the mainstream media, Kansas City Mayor & Council are ready to give away $27-MILLION BUCKS TO DOWNTOWN OFFICE SPACE DEVELOPERS and basically betray all of their campaign promises.

However, a press conference protest, lots of chanting, bright colors, theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated. But here at TKC we are initiated.

Check local news who took the bait . . .

KSHB: Mayor encourages more discussion on proposed tenants bill of rights

KMBC: People who rent in KC fired up after hearing for tenant bill of rights delayed

Fox4: Kansas City Council puts ‘Tenant Bill of Rights’ discussion on hold until December

To be fair, there are a lot of very earnest and good people advocating fair housing in Kansas City. For the most part they aren't privy to the backroom deals and cynical political posturing.

And so, here's the punchline . . .

KC TENANTS AREN'T GOING TO DENOUNCE POLITICOS OR DEMAND MUCH BECAUSE THEY'RE SUPPORTIVE OF THE MAYOR & COUNCIL AND SIMPLY SERVE TO HIGHLIGHT THEY'RE ISSUE WITH A LOT OF BLUSTER!!!

Translation . . . Organizers have great intentions but they were a big part of the effort to get Mayor Quinton elected and they're unlikely to turn against him now, even as their legislation may be gutted behind the scenes.

A statement from an insider supportive of Landlords/home providers offers perspective:

"These people are out of touch with reality. They think that all landlords just have cash flowing out their as* and have unlimited resources. Someone needs to bring these people back to reality and show them that a lot of landlord's are just everyday people trying to make a living. But overall, I'm not too concerned with this new bill. After getting clarification from the mayor about what it means. Property owners, come to the meeting Monday December 2nd!"

To be fair . . . Organizers seem earnest in public and crazier things have passed through City Hall. Credit where it's due . . . This group has held strong so far. A recent tweet from their leader:

"When the biggest public school district in the city, unions representing the city’s workers, community, faith, and student organizations ALL agree that the #KCTenantsRights package is good policy... it’s time to vote yes and make it law."

Accordingly . . .

THE KANSAS CITY TENANT'S BILL OF RIGHTS CONVERSATION CONTINUES WHILST COUNCIL IS BUSY DELIVERING BIG BUCKS TO CORPORATE LOBBYISTS YET AGAIN!!!

They call it "Strata" but it really should be status quo.

    1. ^^^ KC hasn't built an office building in 25 years. This is the one bit of KC legislation that will ACTUALLY pay a dividend and create jobs. Don't expect that advocates of free rent to understand that!

There's no plan or strategy and huge sums of tax money pour out the door simply in response to the "demands" of one group after another.

That is a clear indication that whatever they are proposing is bad for KC, bad for America and ultimately bad for those constituents.

Can't we just get Kander to build them tiny houses?
