TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY FIGHT FOR $15 CAMPAIGN HELP WANTED!!!

Almost everything eventually becomes a grind and right now with SPECIAL THANKS TO KICK-ASS TKC READERS we've got a glimpse behind the curtain of a social justice movement that has earned quite a bit of progress locally by way of nationwide union funding.

To wit . . .

HELP WANTED!!! THE KANSAS CITY FIGHT FOR $15 CAMPAIGN PREPS FOR 2020 ELECTION YEAR PROTEST!!!

OF COURSE, not everybody agrees with this fair wage fast food worker movement and some of our smartest readers point out that the protests simply advance the argument for increased automation and actually hurt low-wage workers in the long run.

Then again, a look at the job descriptions indicates that this entry level organizer position probably doesn't even pay $15-buck-an-hour if done properly and seems like very exhausting grassroots work. The whole thing reminds our blog community of a long-ago satirical article that hit upon a fundamental truth: Undercover Cop Never Knew Selling Drugs Was Such Hard Work

Nevertheless, with special thanks to EPIC FRIENDS OF THE BLOG IN THE NON-PROFIT WORLD . . . We get a detailed glimpse at how this movement works from the inside out as the new crop of PROFESSIONAL ACTIVISTS prepare start another season of protest . . . Checkit:

  2. TK, I think one thing you missed here is that the entry level position actually pays a lot better than fast food work. In fact the structure of the movement is a lot like corporate work. There's a lot of free labor from protestors and volunteers that supplements staffing goals. Then the volunteers basically serve like unpaid interns in hope of landing a full time position. That's the same cutthroat way of doing business as any marketing firm and it requires applicants to give a lot free time to their employer. Very few businesses could get away with that kind of tactic if they weren't politically aligned and connected.

  3. Checked a little bit further, no educational requirements. I guess that liberal arts degree isn't needed after all.

  4. White people are demons from hell who infect the earth with a blood lust leaving bodies in their path...take the Native Americans for example white people will be celebrating their genocide in what the demons call Thanksgiving.

11:17, Lincoln made Thanksgiving a national holiday to "give thanks" for the Union victories at Gettysburg & Vicksburg which, ironically, occurred on July 4th, 1863.

It became about the Pilgrims after the war to make it acceptable to the Southerners.

11:01, that is the employment model for most of the Wall Street firms.

Even the The Legislative Branch uses slaves - I mean unpaid interns.

Even Unions are businesses, which is how they become corrupted & suborned.

  9. Just drove by a Target. They're hiring at $13 an hour. That's awfully close to $15 an hour. I can't imagine why Target needs to put a giant banner on its building if all these folks are clamoring for work.

  10. Great idea. Let the government, filled with people who couldn't run a kool-aide stand decide what wages should be paid by business owners in the private sector.

    What could go wrong?

Democrats are brain dead. They see ONLY what is right in front of their face (When not smoking the hooch.) and decide that a bartender who can't spell beer, should decide how to run the economy.

  11. 12:10, a person (you) who is getting by on government handouts cannot possibly know what is and is not an employment model for wall street firms. Have you ever even set foot on Wall Street?

  14. Miami Mike had to leave Fight For 15 because Sly James no longer has influence in the labor movement. Once Mike and Sly hosted the May Day 17 when Mike and Sly declared themselves Managers Of The Proletariat, they manage to divide the Kansas City Labor Movement by spreading conflict between trade labor organizers and industrial organizers. The consequence was union busters with red flags began showing up to demonstrations in spite of the unlawful weapons ordinances for KC that requires anyone bearing long rifles need a conceal and carry license. This forged a traditional Red/Brown Alliance to carry out threats and union busting operations.
