TKC MUST READ!!! CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER 'KLAN' COMMENT CHALLENGED BY KANSAS CITY URBAN CORE LEADER!!!

Our TKC blog community FIRST NEWS HIGHLIGHT set off a fire storm today across the metro. Now we offer a look at the push back from leaders among Congressman Cleaver's constituents.

Timothy Smith is a rising star leader in the urban core, and his public response to Congressman Cleaver is quickly gaining traction. Take a look at the informative and opening line:

"Last Tuesday 15 percent of Kansas City registered voters cast their ballots to reverse the name change of The Paseo Blvd that had been renamed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Less than a week later these citizens are being characterized as racists, misinformed, confused, disrespectful, and Godless by their own U.S. Congressman, Emmanuel Cleaver, simply because a handful of Black clergy participated in embarrassing Cleaver before the nation."

"But when one takes a closer look at the facts, one clearly sees the missed opportunities by Cleaver and others to lead on this issue, but instead of leadership, the kind that brings a community together, even those who disagree, they chose to play the race card for over a year; painting the same white voters who are as responsible for Cleaver’s political success as mayor, and now as U.S. Congressman, as racist opportunist who’s hatred for Dr. King fueled their decision to vote Yes on Question 5 last week. That is a lie, and what undergirds that lie is the type of dangerous racial rhetoric and vitriol that fuels violence. We cannot allow Kansas City to burn over a handful of Black minister’s burned egos."

"What are the facts?"

Read Mr. Smith's Public Post to find out.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. The facts are clear. The Congressman doesn't have a lot of support on this issue. He should leave the Paseo alone. It's obvious people want it to remain the same.

    1. ^^^^ Not really 15% of KC registered voters isn't a lot of people considering MOST don't register. Small minority within a minority. Votes really shouldn't be valid at such low levels.

    2. We could say the same thing nearly all votes in Kansas City. Its always a low voter turnout in terms of population.

  2. It’s also obvious to everyone that the cleave threw the entire city under the bus calling them members of the kkk all because he lost his third attempt in over 40 years to change a street to mlk, all voted down by his own people I might add. This is beyond any reasoning, he’s flat out obsessed with this so much so that he doesn’t care about anything else as evidenced by his lack of helping the taxpayers with the many tax abuses going on in this city. He has two cares in the world right now and that’s mlk and 18th and vine, nothing else matters.

He owes the entire city a huge apology and then he should turn in his resignation.

  3. 3:27 so you’re saying Lucas shouldn’t be mayor then? about the same amount of people voted for mayor.

The airport shouldn’t happen either because it was also a low voter turnout.

  4. No thanks I'll pass on the click. One thing is obvious SLie James dumped a shit load of problems on this city that will probably never be fixed.

  5. Actually the usual suspect urban core revs and Cleaver embarrassed themselves.
Given the continuous total lack of leadership, gross incompetence, self-serving "projects", disappearing tax money, tiresome victimization, blaming, and excuses, increasing levels of violence, and all the other dysfunctions in "the community", it's encouraging that some new people are stepping up to address the nonsense and even outrageous statements and antics of tired old grifters like Cleaver.
Whether those who step up are young or older makes little difference.
Just that they're honest with themselves and others and address 2019 issues, problems, and solutions with candor, effectiveness, and accountability.
The majority of regular folks who live in the urban core deserve so much better than what they've had to settle for in the past and are hungry for individuals and programs that work for more than just the regular handful of insiders.
Cleaver owes KCMO residents an apology.
And the fact he appeared with Sharpton, an individual who pretty much sums up all that is wrong in the black community, speaks volumes about his fitness to serve in Congress.

  6. Dont forget he helped crooked John Miles land huge CBDG contracts for a East Patrol police station, crime lab and community center amid a dwindling congregation. Him Miles, Reed and Al Brooks.

  7. "Its always a low voter turnout in terms of population."

No one gives a shit here. Except for a handful of deluded local yokels born and raised here.

Oh boy there we go again

  9. Cleaver is losing his mind, there is no other explanation for sticking his neck out like that on this one.

If you want to learn a little more about the kind of person Cleaver is, google "Cleaver car wash loan" and read all about the shady loans he put together (complete disregard for SBA loan requirements and TWO public agencies kicking in for his down payment in violation of their own policies), and his failure to repay to the point that his congressional wages are garnished.

  10. How long before cleavage calls this guy a racist?

All I can say is that as a white person I am humbled by the post from Timothy Smith. Kansas City may have just turned the corner on racism if he steps forward as a real honest leader of the Black Community. What a well spoken and sincere response to the Black Reverends (including Cleaver and Sharpton) and I believe, truly believe, we can and will see significant changes in our black community with this man.

  14. Cleaver is the typical low life nigger with his hand in the cookie jar. How else would the coon make a buck drying cars at his piece of shit nigger town car wash he’s not even qualified to do that. He’s never done one fucking thing besides hide behind his cross that I’m sure he doesn’t give a shit about either. What a fun free ride it must be, money for nothing just like the rest of the worthless democrats

  16. Who is stepping forward as a “real honest leader of the White Community”? That is racist, 5:33pm. Be humbled all you want and I agree with this guy but he’s no leader of anything. He speaks the truth and that is it - and I can support that but designating anybody as a leader of Black or White is racist. Stop it!

  17. Mr. Smith is spot on! God bless him for speaking truth. I hope we see and hear more from him.

  18. Smith is a leader that does not to be a face that's "TV Ready" like Cleaver's generation #okboomer

  19. Still waiting for the race baiting cause that’s how I make money off you chumps cleaver and his fat fake rev buddies, Never mind, that’ll never happen.

  24. Cleaver is so far out of touch he couldn’t get a massage at a massage parlor.

He is KC’s clown and will forever be known as Carwash Cleaver the Clown.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He is a race baiter.

No one spit on him that proof showed.

Did he lie? Consider he promised to pay the bank he took his carwash loan out on.

He didn’t pay it. Do you think he lied? Good intentions don’t pay the bill. Ask Enron.

  26. I’m guessing since he didn’t turn in his resignation letter toady that he’s going to do it tomorrow. Surprisingly his twitter account only talks about his hatred of President Trump and the impeachment hoax. Im a bit surprised he hasn’t accused the Russians or Trump of meddling with the vote for mlk blvd! Hahahahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  27. He is no leader of anything in the KCMO urban core. Tim and Canady were trying to get the white vote with these lies of process failure and that's exactly why she lost her bid for Mayor. This was a race issue, and both Tim and Canady need to crawl back into the corner and sit down

  28. change cleaver blvd to mlk blvd.

We don't need to honor racists here in KC.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "Lies of process failure", really? The city council was bullied into changing the name in the first place. It should have been put to voters in the first place. Residents of KC are tired of a few easily manipulated council members making decisions about things like sending the King family a big, fat payment every year. This town has record-setting murders to deal with, not to mention the potholes. That King family payment could actually get all of them filled in a timely manner.

    ReplyDelete
  30. If there were any journalists left in KC, we'd have the photocopy of the cancelled check paid to King family by the city for use of the King name on the street signs.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Let it go... we probably should have paid the King family for use of the name but this small town doesn't do anything properly as evidenced by this discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Clever probably had the Council send the check to the MLK family for the renaming. Is there any way this money will be coming back to the City?
