TKC MUST READ!!! AMID ONGOING OUTCRY OVER KCPD 'PERFECT RECORD' FOR OFFICER-INVOLVED DEADLY SHOOTINGS: PROSECUTOR 'MEAN JEAN' PETERS BAKER OFFERS LETTER WITH MORE DEETS ON LATEST KANSAS CITY COP CRISIS!!!
The deadly Kansas City police shooting of Terrance Bridges during a domestic disturbance continues to inspire outcry in the urban core. A recent grand jury de facto dismissal of the case added insult to injury.
Accordingly, Jackson County's top law enforcement elected official offers more guidance and info for the public . . . Checkit:
Prosecutor Office letter released about evidence in KC officer-involved shooting
Money line . . .
"As Prosecutors we enjoy a unique and dynamic role in the criminal justice system. It is our responsibility to fairly seek justice for both the victim and the accused. As members of this community, we are sensitive to and instructed by the issues of race, implicit bias and imperfect balances of power. However, we cannot be guided by feelings. Rather, our sworn duty requires us to be faithfully bound to the evidence and law. The Committee met over multiple sessions reviewing this matter and the law."
It's doubtful that protesters and critics will be convinced by a comprehensive explanation of the case that's footnoted and well-documented.
