TKC FACT CHECK!!! INTERNETS PETITION TO SHUT DOWN J.C. NICHOLS PARKWAY IN HONOR OF MLK NOT YET FILED IN KCMO!!!
Quick update from the distant past . . . About a week ago.

Petition to change JC Nichols Parkway, a name linked to segregation, gains signatures
To be fair . . .
More than 3,000 people and counting have signed this petition!!!
However . . .
AS OF THIS WRITING, ORGANIZERS HAVE YET TO BEGIN THE VOTER PETITION PROCESS AT THE KCMO CITY CLERK'S OFFICE TO PUT THE ISSUE TO A VOTE!!!
A recent call confirms NO VOTER PETITION YET ON FILE.
Change.org is a great idea but a legacy of the Obama era and a non-binding form of social justice action.
Right now we notice very little followup on the issue beyond the world of social media i.e. the real world.
Whilst ranting about the legacy of long dead architect of KCMO is OH, SO, VERY IMPORTANT . . . The shoe leather work beyond interviews and press releases takes a bit more commitment.
Of course, we'll wait patiently to see if activists who actually reside within City Limits keep true to their word and honor their cause with something besides angry keyboard "woke" activism. Meanwhile, the legacy of J.C. Nichols is, rightfully, and continually attacked but so far residents who have good intentions don't seem very interested in working to achieve their dream.
