TKC EXCLUSIVE SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KANSAS CITY ELITE PREP FOR THE RETURN OF MIKE SANDERS!!! HOLIDAY HOMECOMING BEST WISHES!?!?!

The holiday season brings the return of old friends along with awkward encounters betwixt loved ones despite and amid ancient disagreements.

And so we offer this Christmastime note to contemplate as the weather turns colder and we consider those whom we offer our hearth and hearts.

To wit . . .

THIS HOLIDAY SEASON KANSAS CITY INSIDERS SPEAK SOFTLY OF DISGRACED POLITICO MIKE SANDERS AND HIS UNCOMFORTABLE RETURN TRIP HOME!!!

The return of former political power player Mike Sanders is "complicated" because the 2020 election season will bring a litany of Democratic Party allegations of corruption against Prez Trump but this TOP RANKING MISSOURI DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADER and his tragic federal reputation seem to take away the moral highground from Kansas City's progressive elite.

Here's a quick refresher for those who might have forgotten . . .

Fox4 money quote: "(The judge gave Sanders a) 27-month prison sentence for conspiracy to commit wire fraud related to inappropriate use of campaign donations.

A judge sentence Sanders at the end of September to the more than two years in prison plus three years probation. The judge also ordered that Sanders pay back $40,000. At the time of his sentencing, he had already paid back $25,000.

Investigators said Sanders funneled money back to himself in a scheme in which his chief of staff, Calvin Williford, also pleaded guilty to in January (2018). During that court appearance it was also mentioned that Sanders and Williford took a trip to Las Vegas together using some of this money.

"At the end of September a judge sentenced Williford to six months in prison for his role in stealing campaign funds.

"The stunning allegations came to light in December 2017 that Sanders used Steve Hill, a longtime friend and quadriplegic who lives on disability, to pull off the illegal kickback scheme."

Now . . .

Most insiders expect Mike Sanders to keep a low profile and hope for local politicos to politely ignore his homecoming but let's not forget that he has a great many Kansas City metro roots. Before he was locked up his friends spoke of Sanders doing construction work given that he was disbarred by the Missouri Supreme Court.

Still, as rumors swirled before his federal case guilty plea . . . He earned appearances on local political chat shows and seemed to be keeping an active public profile.

Make no mistake, the release of Mike Sanders from the federal pen has Kansas City political elite feeling a bit of consternation during the holiday season given that he helped so many politicos earn their office and might be in need of a few favors to help get back on his feet given a great deal of discrimination against formerly incarcerated people.

And all of this inspires our playlist dedicated to holiday homecoming songs . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

    1. I really don't see why it would be so much of a problem. Kansas City is home to a lot of political people how have had trouble with the law. Mike didn't need to be locked in the federal pen, there are plenty of people who have committed violence who deserve to be there and a former lawyer doesn't really have a place there. Glad he should be getting early release for time served and good behavior. I think he is a good man who just got caught up in a bad situation.

    2. Statement Read by Mike Sanders11/30/19, 7:09 PM

"It is with much humility and true regret that I leave the court today. I blame no one else for the mistakes I have made and accept full personal responsibility for the inappropriate use of the campaign committees and their funds. I believe that the real test in life is not whether you fall down or stumble, but whether you pick yourself back up, and what you do afterwards that truly defines your character. I made mistakes, and today I'm paying the price. But I am going to work very hard to turn this situation into actions that are positive, constructive and meaningful, for my family, for myself and for this community."

  3. GREAT! The Black politicians are salivating trying to recruit this political thug. Good grief. Why not go to a new town and start over there. Why bring the corruption back to Kansas City.

  4. Actually the way to look at is that Sander's biggest crime was to not think bigly like the Prez.

  5. 7:31 corruption has gotten worse since he left, have we forgotten about Frankie and his merry band of thieves already ? Jeez you dimwits have a short memory.

  6. 7:50 the current prez came into the presidency already loaded, just look at your boys billy and Barry, now those folks came into the presidency with little or nothing and left office with hundreds of millions of dollars, take off your dimwit colored glasses and see who the real crooks are.

  7. Obama came into the presidency with a $1.3 million dollar bank account and is now worth an estimated $250 million......

8 years at 400 grand a year equals $3.2 million.... makes you wonder doesn’t it.

  8. That "the Kansas City elite" would be anxiously waiting for the return of a mid-level local political hack speaks volumes about what a backwater cow town this really is.
There's hardly a shortage of grifters around.
Will he be passing anyone going the other way on his trip home from the pen?

  11. He'll find little purchase with his old haunts and recent friends.

"For night's swift dragons cut the clouds full fast, And yonder shines Aurora's harbinger; At whose approach ghosts wandring here and there Troop home to church-yards.... For fear lest day should look their shames upon, They willfully exile themselves from light, And must for aye consort with black brow'd night."

  12. He was always a prick to people who weren't part of the system in Independence.

  13. Hey..., I know..., Mike Sanders who just got out of jail, could do a reality show appraising houses for Jackson County with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who just got out.

It could be called, "The Situation With Sanders" and could have guest appearances from locals who are really fuckin pissed off (There is some DRAMA!) about how much money they are coughing up for taxes. Fights could break out, "The Situation" could hook Sanders up with some way too hot chick for him and they could hit the "Crossroads" on First Friday during drive by's.

Cameras could follow Sanders up the steps into City Hall where he and "The Situation" could reminisce about "being in stir" and "fuckin with the bulls" as Secretaries throughout the building pretend that their bosses are "not in".

  25. TOP PHOTO -- MAN OF CONVICTION

Asked how he was able to conceal his bald-faced lies for so long, Sanders reflected for a moment and said, "Talk fast, smile, and conceal the naked truth!!!"
