NTSB Says Coast Guard Ignored Duck Boat Safety Recommendations

The National Transportation Safety Board, in a blistering report, says the U.S. Coast Guard's failure to adopt its safety recommendations, dating back 20 years, likely led to a Missouri boating accident that killed 17 people in July 2018.

  1. It's almost like safety regulations are a good thing and we need agencies who investigate and enforce them.

  2. We have tons upon tons of safety regs in place but nobody seem to want to enforce them too harshly because soon as you do some bleeding heart asshole starts call you a racist or other choice name while making wild ass claims you're picking on an innocent person for no reason.

  7. Ever wonder why the captain didn't act like a dude that had a little experience and turn around and cruise WITH the wind instead of barreling into the chop like an 8 yr old late for dinner ? Or why he didn't move his fat asses to the back of the boat so the bow didn't dig in. Or why not see the shit is hitting the fan and have the crew forcibly put all in life preservers in addition to one of the other above solutions ? This was inexplicably stoopid on the part of the crew, yet there is no surprise because you see the same kind of ignorance everyday in a 20 minute drive to work. The same people who drive like idiots are the same people who also are too stupid to wear seat belts (the equivalent of a life preserver). Think I'm wrong- look at the MSHP crash reports, then cross reference them with the casenet docs. Bad drivers die and often take others with them.
