SecState Pompeo Senate Run Coming Soon

New on the end of Kris Kobach's career and the rise of the only politico who can bridge the establishment GOP with the fading alt-right. Checkit:

Mike Pompeo still poised to run for Senate - but only with Trump's blessing

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is still poised to run for an open U.S. Senate seat from his home state of Kansas, according to multiple Republicans familiar with the planning. Pompeo is not accelerating his plans to leave his current perch and has until a June filing deadline to make a final decision.

  1. “Pompeo's silence is deafening, it is an act of abject cowardice. I’m astonished that somebody who went to West Point and was an Army officer does not have the spine to stand up for the people in his organization who are being denigrated by this President.”

Rosenberg called Pompeo’s silence a “complete failure of leadership,” and “disgusting,” and said if Pompeo were watching, “I would tell him he’s a coward.”

Rosenberg previously served as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Texas during George W. Bush’s second term. He was acting DEA administrator during the first eight months of Trump’s tenure.

State Department diplomats, Aaron David Miller and Richard Sokolsky, wrote on Saturday,

“At the very least, Pompeo enabled the smear campaign to go unchallenged, acquiesced in the Giuliani back-channel effort with Ukraine and failed to say a word in defense of Bill Taylor, George Kent or Marie Yovanovitch. These are breathtaking acts of craven political cowardice and beneath the dignity of any secretary of state.”

Attention all U.S. diplomats: Watch your own backs, because Pompeo won’t.

Mike Pompeo: Last in his class at West Point on ethics in leadership.

  3. It's time for the press to allow Mike Pompeo to do his job, and spend less time having to correct false stories. The news media should cover all the #kssen candidates, including a #trustedconservative woman with a track record of breaking barriers.

The national news media has forced Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to repeatedly confirm that he is not running for the U.S. Senate in 2020. It's unfortunate they are forcing him to go through this exercise.

  4. Why elect a failed Secretary of State that has served Trump for less than 3 years, when we can elect a failed Kansas Secretary of State the served for 8?

    Experience counts.

Say no to Fat Kobach. Vote for the real thing!

  5. If Pompeo won't stand up for his own employees, why would we expect him to stand up for Kansas taxpayers and constituents?

Everything Trump touches dies. The toxic president has destroyed another reputation.

  6. Pompeo is damaged goods and likely looking at impeachment for contempt of Congress if he doesn't resign first. He is blocking the release of subpoenaed state department documents and ordering his employees to ignore subpoenas to appear before Congress.

If there is any real justice, his return to Kansas will be to check into Leavenworth.

  8. Pompeo has repeatedly said he isn't running for senate.

If he flip flops now, he is a proven big fat liar.

He will also owe the government a lot of money to reimburse taxpayers for his "official" trips to Kansas as SOS when he apparently was just coming home to campaign as a side hustle.

  9. “I was a communications director for a Bush White House that didn’t get a lot of points for communicating. Pompeo was the worst appearance by an executive branch official I’ve ever seen in my career.”

“When Colin Powell’s aides swung the camera away, I cringed less. I'm not rooting — I got no dog in this. That was unbelievable,” she said, adding, “What’s he hiding?

  10. The Red Star has started its constant assault on Pompeo because he's a strong and smart Republican and leader. The more this rag writes about him, the more fearful you realize they are. Many Kansans would love to have this man represent the state in the U.S. Senate.

  11. If Pompeo is the best and strongest candidate the GOP has to offer, they are in big trouble. Huge.

  12. I like Mike. Bank on it.

  13. In other words, when Trump desperately throws Pompeo under the bus, Fat Kobach expects Kansas to hand him the Senate nomination, right?

  14. Is Pompeo as toxic as Kobach? Inquiring minds want to know!

  15. ^^^I think we know the answer to that one. Pompeo apparently left the credo "A cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those that do" back at the Academy.

Kobach and Pompeo....a couple solid Senate choices for Republicans should it pan out.

  16. ^^^One of them will be elected United States Senator by Kansans in 2020. Get used to it.

  17. ^^^ Correction - one of them will be NOMINATED and thereby guarantee that a Democrat will be elected Senator from Kansas in 2020.
