The law can be a tricky thing and for those of us who watch the news closely . . . Over the years we've seen more than a few former and current lawmen caught up in bank robbery allegations . . . For better or worse, the current age of ubiquitous tech surveillance prevents most successful heists. Another example:
Former Lee's Summit officer sentenced for bank robbery
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A former Lee's Summit police officer has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison without parole for robbing a bank. Richard Hagerty, of Independence, was sentenced Wednesday for armed bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a violent crime.
