Provisionally Accredited KCPS Bribes Students To Improve Attendance

A cynical "inventive" scheme that wouldn't be necessary if local schools weren't so horrible . . . Here's bright side reporting following the data faking admission this week:

Bikes, iPads, gift cards among incentives KCPS using to try to boost attendance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City kids could earn some high-ticket items for meeting what the state considers the minimum in attendance. After a new report showing Kansas City Public Schools didn't tell the whole truth to the state when it comes to student attendance, Superintendent Dr. Mark Bedell detailed some of the incentives the district is now using to try to boost attendance without fudging the numbers.

  3. Really?? These same people who want to bribe kids to go to school are teaching these kids??? No wonder these kids are leaving KCPS illiterate. Not only can they not read and write they can't even speak properly. What about truant officers?

  5. And they keep raising our taxes to pay for this crap - so many ways to screw you out of your hard earned money and give to folks who only want to tear down everything you have. And they call it schooling. The State should have taken over this school district years ago!!!
