Family of man killed on 2017 swatting call seeks $25 million
WICHITA, Kan. - The family of an unarmed man who was fatally shot by police while responding to a bogus emergency call is seeking $25 million in damages in a lawsuit. The Wichita Eagle reports that recent documents filed in the lawsuit brought by Andrew Finch's family outline the damages they are seeking for his death and their pain and suffering.
Hope they get every penny. That case was cut and dry 'roid rage cops shooting a guy that could have easily been chimpy. They had no signs of threat, no corroborating calls (though not required), a guy who didn't act suspicious in the slightest, trained cop snipes that could have easily waited for verification of a weapon prior to firing. Instead we're left with cops who've grown up watching shows where baddies are capable of drawing a concealed weapon, training and shooting with amazing precision; baddies that require a shoot first ask later mentality.
ReplyDeleteI think they should execute the video game player that was in another state, a sore loser, and called into the police and gave the wrong address for the person he was trying to "swat". The intended victim didn't even live there. This could easily happen to anyone. Do you know who lived in your house before you moved there and if they have enemies?
