  4. The chickens come home to roost. The comments highlight the issues with a local focus in a national / international economic scenario. The success of the flyover states is a function of the collaboration of the entire geographic area. The competition for jobs isn't KC vs. Johnson County; it is KC / St Louis vs. Chicago or Houston or Charlotte.
