ReplyDeleteTaking the bullying and intimidation tactics of the urban core into council meetings just turns any possible "discussion" into mindless shouting and marching around.
And continues to diminish the reputation, credibility, and effectiveness of any member of the council that instigates the show.
As long as one council member has the guts to stand up, it's easy for others to follow.
Any facts and good ideas will be lost in the scrum.
Too bad.
Katheryn Shields wasn't she the one involved in that property scam at one time that somehow managed to avoid prison?

ReplyDelete^^Nope you can't. How in the hell this is what is voted into office here in Kansas City blows me away. How do you people like living in one of the few cities that is known as the laughing stock of the country. Go to a city park sometime and you will see lots of places on the ground where Cleaver has been. Most of it is right beside places Ellington and Shields have also been.

ReplyDeleteEllington isn't doing himself any favors. The 3rd district isn't benefitting from the ceaseless upstaging of Ellington. Early in the term and the other councilors and the mayor are focused elsewhere and ignoring Ellington.
ReplyDeleteWhen has the 3rd District ever benefited from the City Of Kansas City? Good shoes get you in the door but politeness never got the working class anywhere. How can you say "early in the term" when the new City Council just finished it's first 100 days and the term has only begun for City Council. If you think Shields can authorize back room tax give away's and it only makes Lucas look bad and Ellington look ineffective with his side show of heavy turnout, in these committee meetings that Kansas City hasn't seen interest in 50 years, makes this 435 rag counting it's numbers for survival.
ReplyDeleteYou guy's are hilarious. However, Ellington has passed more ordinances "early in his term " than the rest of the council has so far. And yes I am a supporter of everything Ellington and a proud "sideshow " member. See you next committee.
