Both the fierce criticism and strident defense of this old school practice signals that a local scribe is still living in the 90s. We highlight this notice simply because it's well-written, thoughtful and at least attempts to look at both sides of the issue . . . Meanwhile, what we notice this year is that THE NEWSPAPER FAILED TO RESONATE WITH THE PUBLIC ON THIS ISSUE . . . And clueless scribes who followed their same path weeks after didn't fare much better.

Is the Tomahawk Chop racist? Depends who you ask

The banging of the drum starts, and you perform the familiar gesture and chant known as the tomahawk chop. Look around and you'll find a few fans, hands in pockets, choosing not to participate in the Chiefs tradition.
How many years has this been going on, and now it's racist? This crap is never going to stop. If you don't like it don't partake in it. The chiefs are Anti American but no one seems to mind that except those of us who don't support them. Move On.
