Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas Talks More Freebies And Rising Violence With Resident Complainers In Money Losing Jazz District

Over the course of a generation the 18th & Vine Jazz District has cost Kansas City taxpayers $100-MILLION. Nevertheless, there seems to be a great deal of discontent with city services and public safety.

Accordingly, here's a review of today's conversation despite a developer power moved this week which proved the new mayor isn't really the strongest force at City Hall:

Quinton Lucas holds 1st town hall since becoming mayor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More than 100 people attended Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas' first town hall meeting since he became mayor. This one was at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in the 3rd city council district. Residents listend to the mayor and asked questions on topics such as illegal dumping, creating jobs, reducing crime and having activities for youth.

  1. Wow, clicking through to the article provides a depressing commentary on the state of education in that community. There's not a single attendee of Q's meeting, as is quoted in the article, that makes anything remotely resembling a coherent or grammatically correct statement. It's very sad.

  2. Of course it’s the schools that are the problem. Couldn’t possibly be the students or the parent. (Parent is singular)

  3. No one asked...

How come your letting the assessment department bankrupt us and rob us of our homes?

  4. ^^ He only took a handful of questions. Instead of raising this issue, although it’s really a state issue and not a City issue, people focused more on The Paseo and activities for youth, rather than other issues.

  5. Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk. That's all you're going to get out of this guy. He's clueless and not qualified to do the job. KC hasn't had a candidate for years and won't get one because of how bad the city has been run down and how bad KC has attracted idiots to live there. Just take a look at the idiots who have moved into Hyde Park they have taken what was an up and coming neighborhood down with in a few years.

  6. Holy Crap, That lady in red needs to get out and do some activity of her own. No way that lady is staving any and in the need of any food handouts. She's packing enough around her to get her all the way through to this time next year without eating anything more. Is that Shields sister?

  8. Listen to KSHB's Gabriella Pagan enunciate her lines in a meaningless alternating staccato pattern. WTF?

Look at the photo in this post. About 1/3 to 1/2 those shown in the audience are White. Quinton must have brought his office staff and sat them right down the middle, pushing Black residents to the fringe.

    STRIKEOUT
