Kansas City Confronts Another Endless, Divisive, Angry MLK Name Game Debate

Whilst the Revs plot their next move and prep to call 70% of all voters Kansas City racist in SURPRISING new national forums and MSM outlets . . . The bright side is here is that Northeast amateur activists might one day wake up and realize that they invested a great deal of time and trouble to benefit the fundraising and media profile of political denizens far more adept at this process then they could imagine . . .

Kansas City volunteers fighting "woke" culture and allegations of racism and privilege feels wonderful when the vptomg public agrees . . . But the end result IS EVEN MORE ATTENTION TO THE CAUSE OF THE REVS AND THE WORK TO HONOR MLK IN KANSAS CITY thereby strengthening their media presence, fundraising and public profile.

Meanwhile most voters would struggle to name any of the earnest "Save The Paseo" dorks except Alissia Canady who garnered an important victory on the backs of activists who only have lifelong enemies and a sense of street sign pride to show for their efforts.

Accordingly, here's a glimpse at two people who know very little about Kansas City discussing this topic very politely . . .

And then an important note about cost . . .

City explains how much it will cost to change MLK Boulevard back to the Paseo

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - Back in January, the city council voted to rename the Paseo Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. That didn't go over well with people who live in the area of the Paseo.

Deets:

"The city spent nearly $60,000 to replace about 189 Paseo signs. They expect to spend $30,000-$40,000 more to swap out Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard signs".

"The cost is lower because highway and LED signs were never switched over to Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and they don’t have to make Paseo signs because they stored them earlier this year just as their planning to do with the Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard signs."

And again, we aren't done with this debate which MUST be crafted into a feel good and costly "moment" for Kansas City . . . Paid with local tax dollars of course . . .

Developing . . .

Sure, it might be a feedback loop but that means we're just going to have to beat them again!

Note to the fat fake Escalade driving revs: This probably would not be a good time to discuss reparations to the descendants of slaves.

Anonymous said...

^^^ That should nevar evar be brought up again regardless, we don’t owe those people nutin.

Send the bill to the fat fake revs and the clowncil members who caused this disaster to begin with.

Yup, stupid is as stupid does.

If anyone is racist in this situation it's the black preachers. This was a slap in the face to the Hispanic community. The Paseo was named after a city in Mexico back in the early 1900's. BTW a lot of black people voted and supported the name change back to Paseo so please tell me Rev's who racist against who?????? Sounds to me like the thugs pushing MLK Blvd are the racist ones, and they should have to pay back the money to clean up this mess!

The only angry and devisive people are the fat fake revs and the cleave, they embarrassed this city and themselves by forcing this to happen, they are now 0-3 in attempts to name a street after mlk, will they evar learn that the city doesn’t want his name on a street? There isn’t a need anymore for a street named mlk, his time is long gone and besides the mlk family are gangsters for making people pay.

They’re already planning a fourth attempt to humiliate the city and it’s people even further, they blame whitey for this last failure when the first two attempts went down in flames when the blacks said no the first two times, who are the racist now.

Deduct the cost of replacing the signs from all the welfare sent to the ghetto

Tony you are becoming part of the fake news by continuing to try link Trump to this corrupt city hall mess. Put Quinton Lucas as the leader of this.

Anonymous said...

Quinton has been the only person showing leadership.

The Save the paseo people are trumpsters. They operate in the same way.

Just deal with it, don't be bad winners!

I love KC said...

I love Trump, the Paseo and Kansas City.

But you know what?

I also think we should have an MLK street. More meetings about it is not such a bad thing!

Anonymous said...

Why is it that only now the cost of the replacement becomes news?

Agree with 8:19; 8:17 is an idiot.

The Kansas City Charter is a well-thought-out document that was created, as are other rules of governing, to avoid just this sort of expensive mess. Had the process for name-changing of a boulevard been followed, this all could have been avoided. The Charter is there to guarantee fairness for all.

The City Council manufactured a crisis, got us labeled a racist city in national media, and accomplished absolutely nothing from it. What an embarrassment.

AIRPORT TO BE RENAMED TO MLK FROM MCI. YOU WATCH!

Why all of a sudden is naming a street after mlk who has become obsolete by the way so why is it so important for the fat fake revs, the cleave and lukass to keep cheating the system and the taxpayers to force this to happen? It doesn’t help anything, doesn’t make us money, matter of fact it costs us to use his name so what’s to gain? Absolutely nothing, naming a street after him is so passé and unnecessary at this stage of the game. Leave the park in his name and let it go.

We see what naming a street after a black fake rev like the cleave did, turned it into a shit hole is exactly what it did, floods every time it rains, it’s falling apart and it’s next to flush creek which is the most polluted stream in the state, kinda fits the cleave doesn’t it!

9:53 the commie red star and Mary snatched wrote an article on May 21st 2018 and this was the headline......

“Slapping Martin Luther King Jr.’s name on the new KCI terminal is offensive”

Snatchez, stupid spell check

Besides Atlanta has named their airport after this fool already

Anonymous said...

This fiasco has cost us nearly $100,000 dollars and we still have potholes from last winter they can’t or won’t fix.....

This money should honestly come out of everyone on the city council's paycheck. They did this illegally. It's criminal.

Also, there's not going to be a street named after MLK unless it's like Benton or some shit. Seventy fucking percent of people were against it and that's HUGE. Most of them would vote against a name change regardless of the street. Name it Charlie Parker Avenue or something...y'know someone with actual history with KC. I could get behind a Parker BLVD

Anonymous said...

^^^ Charlie Parker's only connection to Kansas City is in getting out as soon as he could manage it and begging his Wife on his deathbed not to allow him to be buried here.

18th Street could be named after MLK, it runs from State Line eastward through the Crossroads and then on through the 18th & Vine Money Pit, the Congo, and ends at the Blue River.

Lots of aptness there.

@8:35, you must have been out of town, the $30,000-$40,000 cost was used by the Opposition as a reason for NOT restoring the Paseo name from day one. I've heard it on every newscast covering their arguments and seen it in every flyer the spent tax money producing.
Hell, even Phil Cardarella has used it in his posts on Tonys.

Anonymous said...

^^Phil is a bigger idiot than his ole lady so we ignore him.

Anonymous said...

Why is there ANY cost to replace the Paseo signs?

We've been told the signs still exist, the City already owns the trucks to haul them around, and the City employees who will be doing the work are on the payroll whether they are putting the signs back up or sitting around the garage waiting and loafing.

Surely there won't be $30,000 worth of new nuts and bolts required to restore this City's history. If so, then auction off the MLK signs, surely the African American Community will bid high to purchase such rare and valuable merchandise.

^^^^^^Damn fine idea

All of this fucking around with Dr. King's name, and none of these huckster hog 'reverends' knows the first thing about his message, which was about character and responsibility, not skin color.

Anonymous said...

^^Yup, 11:34 is a GENIUS!

If Emanuel Cleaver is so fervent about honoring Dr. Martin Luther King with a street name, why doesn't he request that "Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd" be re-named?

Both he and Kit Bond had memorials named after them in KC without having the courtesy to die first.

Anonymous said...

Blacks shot dead three of their own yesterday. Where are the reverend's ? Are they going door to door to ease the shock, confort or ask some questions in these neighborhoods ? Do they offer to help the police find the wayward perpetrator and bring them to justice and maybe a little peace to the law abiding citizens in the area ? Bet not. Democrats love the victimization of an entire voting block to guarantee through fear they will remain in power.

Anonymous said...

The reverends are driving around in older Escalades, looking for handouts, maybe a free chicken dinner, probably stop in at Harold Peners, maybe bang some widow lady.

Anonymous said...

I am African American. All I can say is Martin Luther King, if alive, would be discusted by the black community killings, drug dealing, and absent fathers. He would be ranting about Blacks, not equality, not war, not white priviledge. He would be sickened at Jesse Jackson's life and how his family drama makes him look a fool.

Anonymous said...

Memphis has no city street named for King. Nobody seems to echo that.

Anonymous said...

Amen

There are 19,519 cities and 16,360 towns in the us. There are just over 900 cities with a street named after mlk. We aren’t the only city not to have mlk street, we will survive without one. just sayin.

11:55 FTW. If Clueless Cleaver was noble or had an ounce of dignity about him he would request that Cleaver Blvd be renamed for his hero, MLK. Especially after his loan disgrace, etc. But the bottom line is that Clueless is like most of his negro brethren - he ultimately doesn’t give a shit about anything that doesn’t put him in the spotlight. Most negroes would sell their own mothers for a dollar or 15 minutes of fame. Evolution gave them a raw deal.

Anonymous said...

If Carwash Cleaver has dignity he would have paid back his bank loan on the Carwash, not gotten sued over it, refused to pay the judgment, and gotten his paycheck garnished. A congressman with a garnished paycheck. Bringing pride to Missouri, ole Cleaver does.

Anonymous said...

How much did the City pay to the Martin Luther King family for use of his name? They demand royalties for name usage. And does Kansas City still have a naming rights contract with the King family that they will have to pay until that contract ends?
