Kansas City Blogging Life & Loss

Heartwarming & Heartbreaking post from this Kansas City celeb who seems to have really found his voice on his blog whilst he continues to work as a denizen of the local media scene . . . Checkit:

Six Months Without Dad

I remember the morning the hospice called to tell me Dad had quietly passed away. It was relatively early-like a few minutes after 7 a.m. I don't even think I'd had coffee yet, but I started rushing around and throwing on rumpled clothes so I could hurry up and get down there.

  2. Yeah, that's a fvkin' tough situation for anyone to go through regardless of age; at least it seems this was at the tail end of a long life. Probably within a decade I'll be facing the same on my side and wife's. Thus far our family has only lost the old ones except for an Uncle a decade ago. The weight and responsibility of life is a burden, and something for which I have no way to prepare. So on we go growing in maturity and age until some point we look around in surprise and realize we're now the old ones that our progeny look to for wisdom and advice if we have it to impart.
