KMBC: Attempted murder-suicide at Wendy's on Truman Road

Deets:

"A woman is dead after a shooting in the parking lot of the Wendy's on Truman Road.Authorities say that the shooting happened just before 1:47 p.m. Saturday.Witnesses say that a man and the victim were seated in a parked vehicle when the man shot the woman before shooting himself.The woman died at the scene, but the man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition."

Fox4: 1 dead after shooting in Kansas City neighborhood near Longview Lake

"Just after 8:30, officers were dispatched on a shooting call to the 7900 block of E. 117th Street. While police were responding to the call, dispatch updated the officers with a suspect description. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound in a private vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the hospital."

Compare today's 134 marker to only 120 at this point last year as KCMO approaches one of the most violent and deadly years in recent history which threatens to push past the record homicide total of 153 set in 1993.
