Fact Check: If Kansas City Newsies Have To Ask, Cerner Didn't Save Southland

Headline says it all as the newspaper blogs the obvious behind the paywall. Take a look:

Has Cerner development helped or hurt south Kansas City?

Cerner Corp. is building its largest campus in south Kansas City, but the Hickman Mills School District says the tax breaks the city awarded the company are hurting already declining schools.

  1. The entire article was the black community wanting more free shit. If the star wants to pick on TIF projects lets go to the Plaza. Taxpayer also provide millions every year to the Royals and the Chiefs. They haven't developed crap out there.

  2. Hickman Mills was swirling round the toilet bowl long before the Cerner move. The Cerner campus is not enough to stop that. Voting in a different set of politicians might help, but that isn't going to happen.

  3. The blacks in that area nevar wanted cerner or the jobs, they want free shit and the want black free shit. The blacks don’t and will not work for anything. The blacks are the only reason cerner can’t expand out there.

  5. Cerner is having management issues, with many top executives being shown the door in the past few years for lack of performance. The competition has been tough on the company. Many directors and above have grown too comfortable in their roles and don't serve a useful purpose any longer.

  6. ^^^ Cerner has had a "For Sale" sign out since Obama took Office.
And the top Executives who have left were those who could find anybody at all who would hire them... the ones that are still there, wellll...

  7. TOP PHOTO -- CIRCULAR ARGUMENT

KCMO gave Cerner $1.6B in tax increment financing incentives, a national record!!!

  8. It's the old cliche that has gone down the toilet, "If you build it for me, they will come." Nobody wants to live in Kansas City, only forced to work there because of the job.

  9. I'm not sure why they choose this location. They could have chosen downtown or somewhere along the 435 corridor in OP. These buildings will not be used by anyone once Cerner leaves. It is going to be the Bannister Mall of office complexes. Nobody would want to work their, cloistered up in the ghetto.

Stupid decision, and that's probably one reason the execs are being shown the door.
