ADKINS ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN CITY CHAIRS

Kansas City, Kan. - Amanda Adkins, businesswoman and Republican candidate for Congress in Kansas’ 3rd District, announced campaign City Chairs today. These volunteer leaders will connect citizens and volunteers to Adkins and the campaign and serve as a voice about the needs of their communities. City Chairs will also recruit and organize volunteer grassroots activity and host events with Adkins in their area.

“Every city and community in this congressional district will have a voice in this campaign and will be well represented. If I am elected, I will work hard to meet community needs and have excellent outreach and constituent services.” Adkins said.

“I have worked alongside Amanda for many years and am impressed with her ability to deliver results as a businesswoman and as a public servant. I’m excited to serve my city and district in such an important campaign,” said Terry Presta, head of North American Business for Abacus Solutions International, and the Overland Park City Chair.

In addition to their professional success, these leaders have years of civic leadership experience.

Adkins is the former chairwoman of the Kansas Republican Party, where she achieved unprecedented election success while serving two terms from 2009-2013. She has worked in the healthcare industry for 15 years and is currently vice-president for Strategic Growth at Cerner Corporation. She is co-founder of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series whose mission is to prepare Republican women to seek greater involvement in leadership, government and politics. Since it began in 2006, the Eisenhower Series has graduated over 300 women leaders.

In 2019 Adkins founded the Systems of Care Initiative (SOCI) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aligns business leaders with high-performance organizations dedicated to improving school readiness. SOCI makes targeted investments in children to prepare them for future workforce needs in Kansas City.

Adkins graduated from the University of Kansas in 1998 and has lived in Overland Park for the past 17 years. She and her husband, Jason, have been married 20 years and have two children.
