Campaign contributions and promises will continue to be more than enough to get a majority of the city council to do the bidding of the Chamber swells and other big-time players and the new city manager will quickly figure out who actually calls the shots when it comes to priorities, particularly those involving spending money.
Lucas has already punted on serious issues like crime and has shown he can be jerked around by little interest groups with his "gay conversion" legislation.
The selfie, TV, ribbon-cutting, showing up at events show will continue.
