Weed Is The New Bubble Gum

Wanted to check this one with you d-bags if only because marijuana law reform in Kansas, yet again, signals that genie is out of the bottle and there's no going back to weed prohibition. In the middle of the Heartland, local governments are bucking old school laws and we're slowly moving closer to decriminalization.

Checkit:

Douglas County won't prosecute simple marijuana possession

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Douglas County, Kansas, will no longer prosecute simple marijuana possession offenses, the district attorney said Thursday. "I do not feel it is fair or just for Douglas County to criminally charge citizens with something they can do with virtually no penalty in the city of Lawrence and other surrounding communities," District Attorney Charles Branson said in a news release.

  2. Violent criminals hardly get prosecuted, why bother the hippies and dummies? I'd rather all of law enforcement go after thieves, robbers, rapists, vandals, and crimes where victims are not ones self.

  3. That’s only Douglas County, home of about 99.5% of the homosexuals who live in Kansas. Let them do whatever they want.

  4. Wrong way to go about this. If the law needs changed, change the law but don't simply ignore it because you don't like it.

The District Attorney swore and oath to uphold all the laws, not ignore the ones that makes him unpopular. This is very, very bad precedent. What if he decides burglary isn't worth his time to prosecute, or that murders in his county are so rare that they don't need to prosecute them, either.
