TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY BIZ MAG INGRAM'S CONFRONTS TWITTER STORM OVER ALL WHITE MILLENNIAL COVER!!!!
Push back against Kansas City print media was fast & furious as soon as old school local biz mag Ingram's published a mostly worthless tribute to young movers & shakers . . .
In a public tweet that gained quite a bit of traction, one of many critics noted:
"You’d never guess there are more than just white millennials living in Kansas City if you saw this cover. Truly unacceptable."
A followup . . .
Do people just not even think about it like “wow there are only white people in this group that is supposedly representative of a broader population?”
Even former Mayor Sly was in agreement with the critical sentiment.
Another fun comment found in the mix . . .
"That's been Ingram's shtick forever. Finding a minority on its pages has always been like finding Waldo. But I've also never understood what Ingram's actually does..."
Brief aside . . . That's actually a pretty fun game and their covers have a few minorities who garnered recognition!!!
A quick look at the staff won't reveal much diversity either.
To be fair, KC's top right-wing dude penned an EXCEPTIONAL column in this month's issue basically debunking the "millennial myth" that seems to be the premise of the cover.
Jack Cashill: Are There Enough Millennials to Go Around?
So, in some small way, he's actually on the same side of the SJWs who are crying into their pillows about this oversight.
And so . . .
Ingram's generated some publicity with their latest cover but it's unclear if they'll garner new readers from the tweet storm mostly comprised of locals who don't venture far outside of their social media bubble or read much beyond digital blurbs.
