TKC INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW: MISSION GATEWAY STILL COMING SOON?!?

That last we heard Mission Gateway was on the path to completion back in September. But they say that every quarter and since this report nobody has seen much construction at the location and it looks exactly the same.

WILL MISSION GATEWAY STALL FOR THE FALL/WINTER OR CONTINUE HOPEFUL PROGRESS REPORTS REGARDING PUSHING AROUND DIRT?!?!

Developers promised a "food hall update" about a week ago but since then they've been silent.

Whatever the case . . . The current state of the project doesn't look at all like the pix touted to taxpayers despite repeated promises from suits and Golden Ghetto politicos.

Developing???

  3. Curious as to how much tax revenue the vacant land has generated as opposed to the Mission Mall it replaced?

  5. There are numerous issues, finance and insurance. Plus the internal rate of return will be ZERO due to the high interest coverage costs. It is not feasible to build it for profit. If he donated the land to a charitable cause, he could get more in financial return as a tax writeoff. It might be completed, but my opinion is it will be a deflated letdown. Then in 10 years, it will be torn down and redeveloped by someone with more $$$$$

  6. Food Hall BE Careful what you wish for. There are many many Reasturants,And The restaurant industry is having a problem getting and keeping customers. And Food prices are going up. If you notice in Reasturants They are serving more chicken. And they grow the chickens in three months. If you like eating Rubber Chicken. And Beef in Resturents are expensive .Soon just a Burger in a nice Resturent will run eighteen dollars. Pork A Slab of Ribs, will be Thirty dollars or more .MOST OF THE PORK IS GOING TO CHINA. A BILLION,PEOPLE EAT PORK SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. CHINA PURCHASED A U.S. PORK PRODUCER IN 2013,A FAMILY HAS JUST SO MUCH TO SPEND ON EATING OUT.T

  10. A great idea for this are would be a Pet Cemetary.
KC needs one and this could help elevate the poor schmucks that live here.
They folks that live in this tired city would have a real MISSION.
People from all over could bury and visit their loved ones here.
Admission could be charged with funds raised go to help The Mission’s poor.
In fact- tents and homeless camps could be set up- and California and Immigrants allowed to stay here on a temporary basis- up to 15 years.
What a great Assett this could be to the fine city of Mission.
Or build a Walmart. Or another box store. Or maybe a carwash.

  11. It was a lake 80 years ago. Everything built there sinks eventually.

  12. 11:12/11:40 FTW. Sod it and donate it as a soccer field to area kids. Big tax write off, name park after donor, and would definitely look better than another strip mall/retail space in JoCo.
