TKC IMPEACHMENT UPDATE FACT CHECK: PREZ TRUMP DENOUNCES CHICAGO AS 'EMBARRASSMENT' BUT KANSAS CITY PER CAPITA MURDER RATE IS WORSE!!!
Prez Trump is on the warpath against a major American city and the rhetorical battle has a KCMO connection.
Recent headlines as House Democrats Release Draft Resolution On Impeachment Inquiry:

Now in terms of population percentages and murder per 100K residents . . .
DON'T FORGET THAT THE KANSAS CITY MURDER RATE IS WORSE THAN CHICAGO AS RECENT KILLINGS THREATEN A RECORD BREAKING YEAR FOR LOCAL HOMICIDE!!!
Here's the break down . . .
MONET: U.S. Attorney -- Kansas City has a higher murder rate than Chicago
“The homicide rate in Chicago is the one that gets all the attention because, just the numbers are so great. Kansas City actually has a higher rate, not in pure numbers but in per capita basis, we have a higher murder rate than Chicago,” says U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri Tim Garrison.
He says federal prosecutors have worked with the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) to identify a “targeted enforcement” area.
Here's even more data from the latest stats available . . . Patch published this back in June of 2019:
Kansas City's murder rate surpasses Chicago's
In 2016, Chicago's murder rate was 28.07 murders per 100,000 people, while Kansas City's rate was just under that at 26.79 murders per 100,000 people. This information could come as a surprise for people because many Americans look at the "flyover states" as safe and calm places to live.
In fact, 2017 data shows us that Kansas City is ahead of Chicago on the list of highest murder rates per 100,000 people. According to CBS News, Chicago was named the No. 10 deadliest U.S. city with 24 murders per 100,000 people while Kansas City was named the No. 7 deadliest U.S. city with 31.2 murders per 100,000 people. Based on the information from the article, Chicago's murder rate decreased by 14.5% from 2016 to 2017, while Kansas City's murder rate increased by 12.3 percent.
As of this writing Kansas City counts 122 murders, outpacing last year's homicide count and matching the nearly record breaking 2017 pace.
And so we ask our blog community tonight . . .
IF PREZ TRUMP SEYZ CHICAGO IS AN EMBARRASSMENT . . . WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT KANSAS CITY WHERE THE LEVEL OF KILLING IS PARALLELED?!?!
You decide . . .
