SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY STAR DIGITAL EDITION PRICE SKYROCKETS TO 100 BUCKS FOR MANY SUBSCRIBERS AS PREZ TRUMP CALLS U.S. MEDIA CORRUPT!!!

Dead-Tree media is fighting for survival not only against the Internets but also from constant White House attacks.

Before we get to the fun stuff, here's a bit of local consumer news . . .

KICK-ASS TKC READERS COMPLAIN THAT THE KANSAS CITY STAR IS UPPING THEIR DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTION TO 100 BUCKS!!!

The 26-Week Digital Subscription Package has been widely touted at an affordable option for millennials who want to pretend to be adults and pay for headlines they only check out via social media.

An AWESOME TKC TIPSTER notes:

"Just got my renewal notice from the KC Star. $101 plus change. I just sent my cancellation e-mail."

The money line:

"We appreciate your participation in our convenient EZ Pay program. This notification is to inform you that your new monthly rate will be $101.83 (plus tax- if applicable). This rate change will be effective beginning with your next subscription payment."

And this inspires our question tonight given the smackdown targeting the Reuters reporter . . .

WOULD YOU PAY $100 FOR THE KANSAS CITY STAR OR DO YOU AGREE WITH PREZ TRUMP THAT U.S. MEDIA IS CORRUPT?!?

  6. The great President Trump is right about this, the media is corrupt as hell, the demmocrims base is just down right gullible and will believe anything they say. Stupid. Sad.

  7. I wouldn't PAY 1 cent for the DEEP STATE Propaganda. They should be ashamed of them self's helping the Left sell out our Country. Nothing wrong with loving your Country and it's Culture and their President! Their part of the Swamp covering up for the other Swamp in our Government.

  8. Who needs the star? They charge a huge amount for obituaries. Nobody puts car ads in anymore. Used to be collectors would be at the star printing press waiting for sunday's car ads and call the sellers that night around midnight to secure a rare car. Not anymore. The internet has killed the star, stockbrokers, small stores, life insurance agents, and book stores, In just 24 years!

  10. ^^^^^ Retro buddy, after seeing the crap that Hannity spews, we need the TRUTH you folks call "Fake News"!

  11. The Pink Star can go away.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If folks are stupid enough to pop for a C-note for that rag, they deserve to let the Star exploit their lobotomized brains.

  13. If only the mayors office would quit giving them money to stay afloat maybe they would go away, but the mayors need to spread all that fake news so they can keep scamming money.

  14. 6:00 hannity tells it like it is!

Keep watching pooper and maddog for information, they've been bought and paid for by the liberal fags to spread violence, hate and conspiracy theories, aw hell, you know that because you support it and them.

  15. The red star should take notes from Fox News after all, Fox News is number one in the ratings! Best and most accurate news in the land!

  16. Getting information has changed. Newspapers today are the modern equivalent of the postal service using the pony express

  17. Today's kids on their phones while on their way to debtor prison or an early demise don't know what it's like to put a quarter into a slot and get a pretty decent paper out of the rack.

That could actually be a performance "art act" on some corner in the magnificent downtown. Put a cup out for tips. Heck the suits might even elevate you street corner attraction - "Person Buying A Newspaper" if you luck out.

  18. Most media outlets are basically mouthpieces for the Democratic party.
There are very few journalists left because journalists are supposed to be
objective and instead most of them have a left wing bias. TKC is one of the few sources that is actually balanced.

  19. 8:10, it's obvious that the anger management sessions have not helped. Pop a few valium, that might calm you down a bit.

  20. "Corrupt" is going a bit too far. I'm not even sure what it means in this context. But no question that the Star is biased beyond the point of sheer dishonesty. Mostly its national news consists of snippets from the NYT, AP and WaPo, whose spin is manifest and predictable. The Star's local news coverage is atrocious - I suspect their news gathering methods involve butt in chair telephone calls and not shoe leather.

No, it's not worth the subscription price.

    ReplyDelete
  21. KC tax payers will bail them out soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Why would I ever get a KC Star subscription when this blog exists for free? The news here is more reliable and the commentors are more honest.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The star let go of brook pryor, the dumb cunt who lied about the tyreek hill thing. And they let go of her in a publicly disingenuous way. They couldn't just fire her because that would be admitting they were wrong so they told her to look for a new job immediately, and she found a shitty one immediately.

The star protected her because she was a woman because they don't think women can withstand the same criticisms as a man.

This is just one of the many reasons why the kc star is shit and should never be supported by anyone in kc

  24. Who needs the Star Pravda? The only people left buying that rag are of retirement age. I wouldn't pay a cent for their leftist account of old news I read about online the day before..

    ReplyDelete
  25. I paid $2.50 at a vending machine for a copy of the KC Star during the middle of the week. All I got was the front section and the sports section ... no local or ad sections any more. And this was in the new small section format.

    Never again!
