SHOCK!!! DEADLY MIDWEEK VIOLENCE SPIKES KANSAS CITY, MO HOMICIDE COUNT TO HISTORIC HIGH!!! HORRIFIC PACE: 115 MURDERS AND COUNTING SO FAR 2019!!!

Today has been exceptionally violent for Kansas City urban residents as deadly gunfire ramps up to conclude the 4th quarter of the year.

Here's a roundup that includes a tragic suicide standoff which panicked downtown and River market denizens:

Two shot, one killed near 68th Street, Olive

Man dead following shooting near 24th, Hardesty

KCPD searching neighborhood after man dies from gunshot wound near 25th, Hardesty

KC police investigate shooting near Swope Parkway, Prospect

Despite negotiators’ efforts, man in crisis takes own life at apartment in downtown Kansas City

The suicide DOES NOT COUNT toward the murder total but demonstrates the rising level of desperation inside the loop that is notable amid the rising quotient of local misery. Again we notice KCPD is slow to update their numbers and struggling to redefine some of murders in recent days as the count spirals out of control.

Nevertheless . . .

115 HOMICIDES SO FAR THIS YEAR PUTS KANSAS CITY ON A RECORD BREAKING PACE FOR 2019 MURDERS!!!

At best we're tied with the 2017 pace that nearly shattered a 30-year historic high.

Meanwhile, we notice our newly elected political leadership keeping an arm's length from this issue and focusing on social justice struggles as violence in KCMO worsens.

Developing . . .

    1. True.

He's got developers to negotiate with in order to secure more affordable housing for some of the "best" Kc constituents.

    2. Suicide in the river market. I guess the streetcar didn't cheer him up. Sad.

  2. Don't know if Quinton should take the blame for all of this. Sly didn't do much of anything to curb the murder rate when he was in office. It turns out developers don't kill a lot of people, especially when they're getting such great tax breaks.

  4. The house at 25th and hardesty was a vacant house that the police were there this week throwing people out of it, I don’t know how they can fake this not being a murder. They were there around ten hours today collecting evidence. This one counts as #116.

  14. No single politician is responsible for the murder rate. You can blame the uneducable black urban culture, in spite of the trillions of welfare $ they have been given.
