Rock Chalk Research FAIL: Snoop Dogg Performance Sparks Faux Controversy

Hip-hop b-ball college sports rally sparks MSM and social media phony outrage over an act that hasn't changed much in 20 years.

A more informative note about real life alleged infractions: "KU is denying the Level 1 infraction allegations and will defend itself before the NCAA. Coach Bill Self told the crowd he's never been so excited to coach a team than his 17th season he'll coach at the University of Kansas. He thanked the administration, athletic department and fans for their support during what he called a difficult time.

Kansas basketball stunned after Snoop Dogg does Snoop Dogg things

The Kansas Jayhawks basketball team kicked off its 2019-20 season with "Late Night in the Phog" on Friday, an evening that was capped by an eyebrow-raising performance by rap legend Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg delivered a show that may not have been suitable for any kids in attendance, complete with explicit lyrics and pole dancers.

  1. I was there and was a typical show by Snoop Dogg. I rather enjoyed myself and so did those around me from what I could see. I didn't see or hear a complaint one by anyone. But I knew who was going to be there and I have seen Snoop perform before so I wasn't shocked by anything I saw. No matter what, there will always be those who piss and moan about something. It's a college campus, one expects it to be a little rowdy at these sort of events. Self needs to lighten up himself. Fool was acting like he had never heard rap before. When most the players on your team are black I am sure he has heard much worse in the locker room and well all over. Many of the KU Alumni members need to jerk that stick out of their asses.

Maybe next year they will invite the Chardon Polka Band to come and play. I'm sure that will go over real big like a long loud raspy popcorn fart in church would.

  2. If they book the Chardon Polka Band, I'm there!

  3. Lack of institutional control means always having to say your sorry.

  4. They are booking "The Sons Of GG Alin" next year.

Those guys should be pretty good.

  5. KU didn't fully vet Snoop? How do you not know about Snoop? His first albums were released before most of the students were born. This isn't exactly new or cutting edge.

Guaranteed the students have more offensive porn on their phones than what was on the Field House stripper poles.

  6. Hilarious. KU always has pretensions of being the "better" school in Kansas where the "better" people send their kids. So yo, we got hot mommas twerking on greased poles while rap dudes famous for not exactly being eagle scouts run down some cool thug jargon for the homies from Johnson County. We ballin, muthafuckas! Hahahahahaha

  7. You are probably very correct 3:39. Like I said I have no idea who had their panties in a twist, everyone around me had a great time and I didn't see or hear one negative thing said about the show. I was in the middle of a mixed age of folks. I did see some younger kids but not like a whole lot of them and they probably listen to stuff even worse yet than anything we heard last night. Snoop being Snoop is what the show was about. What to me is funny is how Bill Self was all smiles and joking around with Snoop in the locker room and there are pictures to prove such and then later throws Snoop under the bus. Sort of pissed me off.

  8. I heard that Justin Igger was playing next year.

  9. Just a good example of what is wrong with tbe black community. No respect for anything including themselves.

  10. If I were still in my 20s, I would have thought this was fine. As you get older and wiser, you learn that just because most people enjoy a lot of the sexually charged and crude stuff in R-rated movies doesn't mean that you should follow that same path at a public event at a university.

  11. ^^Just because you get old does not mean you stop having a good time. You sound like a sour as hell person to be around. You must be the one the word fogey is referring to as in Old Fogey

  12. You can’t blame KU for Snoop’s antics. It was Adidas who hired Snoop and paid him to perform. KU is the victim here. Rock chalk, limp cock, Gay U.

  13. Maybe Soren Petro at 810 AM Sports radio will be more critical of this misstep than he has been of KU basketball's cheating scandal. He's been a major disappoinment on-air about that topic by clearly implying KU is simply doing what all the college basketball blue-blood programs are doing, as if that's an excuse for KU to cheat. He doesn't criticize Self or other leadership in the least. This shows a severe lack of personal integrity on Petro's part by acting like what KU did was no big deal in terms of following the rules. He talks about having no "horse in the game" because he's a Syracuse grad and has "friends from all the local schools," but he somehow fails to mention that he's married to a KU graduate. I used to have respect for him, but all of this makes him appear shallow, disingenuous and smug.

  14. When you're young, it's all about something "being fun." Is that your main criteria on whether something is appropriate? That's your problem. This old fogey enjoys fart jokes and other classless entertainment as much as any young whippersnapper, but the proof that it was a major failure is all the headlines being written about it being a major failure and the fact that KU admits it was a major mistake.

  15. Petro needs a break from the airwaves. He just acts tired of the job. Have him go on a sabbatical for a month or so and then come back fresh. It's admirable of him to be so self-deprecating about his weight, but it likely would help his energy level and health to spend some time in the gym.

  16. This is all a misunderstanding. KU did not hire Snoop, Adidas hired him. KU is squeaky clean.

  17. Did anyone get shot? No harm, no foul. Usually in Lawrence people get shot at hip hop or rap shows.

  18. Send letters to NCAA and ask why Bill Selfish allowed this.
On the thousands of letters- ask why KU gave the NCAA the middle finger and doubled down on pissing them off around a Huge CHEATING
    scandal.
This tainted KU and Self should be kicked out of basketball and all KU titles negated.
    Go MU!

  19. Agree.
Self and KU cheating scandal is like Belichick and Pats:
    They’ve earned an asterisk.

  20. Time for Self to go to the pros. He would already be there if Memphis could have hit the broad side of a barn on free throws. He has underperformed if you consider the talent he has brought to Lawrence.
