Low KCMO railroad bridge sees continuous crashes and headaches for residents

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - Time after time, truck drivers have found out the hard way that their big rig is too big to make it under a Kansas City railroad bridge, leaving authorities looking for a way to keep this from reoccurring.

  1. One and a half blocks before the bridge in each direction, suspend a steel pipe across the road, with a sign that says
"If you hit this pipe, you'll hit the Bridge ahead -
be warned and turn before it's too late!".

Then impose a $25,000 fine on any company whose truck hits the bridge. Problem solved.

  3. That bridge has been there since before I was born - maybe 100 years old by now. Trucks have been getting bigger and bigger, and drivers have been getting dumber. No surprise that they continue to hit the bridge. Solution: Forbid trucks on that part of the road? Or put up a big honking sign warning the asshole drivers they are about to destroy their trucks? Stay tuned....

  4. Lower the road under the bridge by 5 feet. Problem solved.

  5. They just doubled everyone's property taxes in Jackson County. Fix it for fux sake. That SOB would have been ripped out decades ago in JoCo ks. If it wasn't we would elect some new leaders. Some peeps never learn......
