Kansas City Royals Reality Check: New Cheapskate Replaces The Old

Great look at consistent Kansas City baseball disappointment as the new boss is very much like the old boss. Read more:

What is the most likely scenario under new ownership?

Previously I have written about the best-case scenario and worst-case scenario under potential new ownership by John Sherman. Now I would like to speculate on what I think will be the most likely scenario. Keep in mind this is all conjecture. I have no insider information.

  1. This is one of the dumbest articles I've ever wasted my time reading. You state right up front you don't know anything so 100% of this is your conjecture and that isn't very inspiring for sure. First: Moore. He isn't going anywhere as he knows what he is doing and is the architect of the Royals rebuilding plan. Second: Manager, We don't have one right now, announced anyway, but Moore is going to pick the guy. Third: Profit, $50 per fan??? I have a box of rocks in my back yard that can figure better than you. The Royals lose money on fans. It is impossible to know how many hot dogs to cook or beer to stock and how many people are going to walk through the gate. Plus the enormous cost to operate the lights and fountains etc. It all costs thousands of dollars an hour per game. Fourth: The new owner has his own perspective that has not been stated and how it will be implemented so toss your Free Agent crap out the window. Bottom line is a downtown stadium is not a reality when you have a facility like the Truman Comple Chiefs and Royals call it home and always will. And NO I don't think they are going to put bike lanes down I-70 to keep that crowd happy.

  4. People who talk downtown stadium are all people with no skin (money) in the game or people who want to sell basically worthless property for big bucks. Take for instance the sports radio talkers. To hear them you'd think these jagoffs were geniuses, like the guy that wrote this drivel article. They don't own even part of any team from T-ball to NFL, NHL, NBA or (shout out to the girls) a women's soccer team. All they do all day long is watch sports on ESPN and copy what those idiots say on those shows. I never have listened to any of them since they promised either an NHL or NBA team "if we built Sprint Center". Those lies are right up there with Obama telling me I could keep my healthcare plan and keep my doctor.
