RAYTOWN, Mo. -- A Raytown man has died from his injuries after an overnight shooting. The shooting was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5600 block of Crescent Ave. According to police, two men were found inside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds.

Pizza Hut armed robber receives 14-year sentence

A Kansas City, Missouri, man was sentenced to 14 years in prison Thursday for the armed robbery of a restaurant with an illegal firearm. Teandre L. Wilson, 40, pleaded guilty April 9 to robbing a Pizza Hut in the 9500 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard at gunpoint in August 2018.

KANSAS CITY, MO (AP) - An employee of two slain Wisconsin brothers says he believes a Missouri cattleman promised to give the men money to lure them to his farm so he could kill them. Twenty-five-year-old Garland Nelson, of Braymer, was charged Wednesday with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 35-year-old Nick Diemel and 24-year-old Justin Diemel, of Shawano County, Wisconsin.

Update: No charges in Overland Park crash that sent school children flying 20-60 feet

Police said they had not yet issued any traffic citations Thursday afternoon after a vehicle plowed into four children Thursday morning in Overland Park. The vehicle sent the children flying 20 to 60 feet when it ran onto a sidewalk near West 87th and Grant streets about 7:30 a.m., Steve Parker, the lead officer on the crash investigation.
