Heartland Farmers Loyal To Prez Trump

Call it Midwest stubbornness or patriotism . . . Here's the progressive perspective on local voters who have confounded pollsters, pundits and most of the MSM . . . Checkit:

Kansas And Missouri Farmers Are Sticking With Trump Despite The Hard Times He's Caused Them

Most farmers haven't had a single good year since President Trump took office, and Trump's policies on trade, immigration and ethanol are part of the problem. Yet farmers, who broadly supported Trump in 2016, are sticking with him as the impeachment inquiry moves forward.

  1. O course they are. Trump explained that the hard times would hit first and the farmers know that. Trump was straight forward about that. The idiots who have no clue will scream about it because they have no clue what is happening they are too busy dying their hair pink for PINKO's

  2. Why would they abandon him now? If Warren becomes president all of the pain they've experienced as a result of Trump's trade war with China will be for nothing, as Warren will remove the tariffs and return to business as usual with China having an unfair trade advantage with the US. The way Trump approached trade with China was reckless, but his motivation to improve the way we trade with China was far from wrong.

  3. Of course they're sticking with him because they fuck livestock. Farmers are dumb like that.

  4. 1:16, what a retard...attack the institutions that actually contribute instead of those always on the take. Farmers just want the economic conditions set for them to compete fairly - gov't should work to set those conditions and then get out of the way. Trump will do this, the Dems just promise handouts and other political goodies in return for votes.

  5. The window to the Chinese market is just about closed. Re-opening it will be extremely difficult at a minimum. Alternative suppliers are already in place in Brazil and Russia. But hey, it was a good fight.

  6. I thought trade wars were easy @1:09? That's what the dear leader told us. So why all the suffering?

  7. @1:27 - Can you explain to me how the farmers were being taken advantage of by the Chinese? I'm serious. I know China is known for stealing IP and nimble manufacturing that makes it hard for domestic manufacturers to deal with but how exactly does that impact farmers?

I mean, what's Trump's end goal here? All we ever get is, "it's gotta be fair." Trumps idea of fair is equal trade. US buys $50B worth of goods from China and China buys $50B worth of goods from the US. Any economist will tell you that isn't how trade works and it's not a bad thing to have a deficit with another country necessarily. A lot of this just dumb dumb Trump ranting because Steve Bannon or Steven Miller told him this shit was bad. Absolutely no strategy.

  8. 1:27 you don't read well.

  9. Farmers-the biggest takers of welfare in the nation! That's a fact! Stand on your own two feet! Quit taking subsidies from the government! I hope they institute drug tests before those farmers can claim that welfare!

  10. Yeah, fuck farmers! Those dumb welfare queens!

  11. 2:03 - I think farmers recognize that there will need to be shared sacrifice by everyone to deal with the Chinese trade situation. Yes, they are beneficiaries of exports to China but the country is suffering as a result of these trade practices. Call it crazy, but sometimes you have short term pain for long term gain. Farmers are willing to support their country over their own interests!

  12. as if the attack on american farmers did not start a long time ago. Once again, democrats will have to do better than biting trumps balls. Besides, not only should you distinguish between trump and the trump administration, you need to distinguish between family farms and corporate farming conglomerates.

  13. 3:58 - So let me get this straight, farmers are, arguably I suppose, taking the largest impact from this trade war but they're cool with it because the whole country will benefit? Even though, there's really no issue with farmers trade policies with China? ]Meaning they have a pretty good relationship with their Chinese markets and the relationship is working for farmers.

You hear of a lot of farmers saying they don't know how much longer they can hang on until they have to declare bankruptcy - though, I hear this through sources that our reliable POTUS would call fake news, so I guess there's that angle of counterargument. But, farmers quoted saying they are really hurting and close to going under. Doesn't seem so shared to me. Does it to you?

It's too bad the party of free trade has gone rogue, then again, they've gone rogue on all their other principles since Trump came into office.

  14. 4:40: We sometimes have to make decisions for the greater good - even if it's not in our own interest. It's called sacrifice. Spending more time in rural America would probably be a good classroom for you to learn some life lessons. And don't fall back on the liberal argument that rural American is full of backward idiots. They are exhibiting the values that we hope our politicians and business leaders will demonstrate (i.e. not willing to make hard decisions that could result in not being elected or not making next quarter's #'s).

I'd also suggest you sit in on a economics class to learn more about what free trade involves. The communist system, or whatever self-serving government controlled economy that China has created, is not free trade. Ask anyone who has spent any bit of time in China or doing business in China and you'll learn that the past several decades of free trade has been one-sided (all take, no give). Admitting China into the WTO and hoping free markets and capitalism would unlock democracy, human rights, and a more stable Asia has not gone as planned. It's only strengthened a system of government that is oppressive and against common values among our allies.

  15. Give me a break with your sanctimonious bullshit. Losing the family farm to a policy that has no end game is not sacrifice. You really think a farmer is going to wake up one day after losing their farm and say "gee whiz, I lost my whole livelihood but Apple doesn't get their IP stolen by Chinese".

What else you gonna go on here before you come to the realization that Trump is fucking shit up for a lot of people in a major way?

And please tell me about all the one sidedness. I've sat in plenty of econ and finance classes. I don't disagree that thinking admitting China to the WTO would change them was naive but here we are but you're also mixing politics and economics. Are you arguing we should be cutting China off now because of their Human rights record? So how about Saudi Arabia? How about Russia? Some of our POTUS favorites.

Fact is, the guy running this shit show has no clue what he's doing and what is win, in this situation. His previous business dealings alone tell me as much.
