Hard Winter Ahead: Not Enough Space For Massive Influx Of Kansas City Hobos

Over the past few years this town has seen a dramatic increase in the number of homeless on local streets, under bridges and setting up neighborhood camps. While suburban housewives love to feed them in their spare time . . . There isn't enough emergency housing when temperatures outside become dangerously cold. Here's confirmation:

Snow, cold temperatures bring concerns about lack of shelters

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The October cold has some people worried about the lack of warming shelters in the Kansas City Metro. There only are a handful of warming shelters, and many don't open unless it's dangerously cold. Jennifer McCartney, founder of Kansas City Heroes, said pop-up winter weather is devastating to those suffering from homelessness.

  1. Good, those that cant find shelter can freeze at their panhandling corners, or better yet, people who want to constantly feed them in downtown from Johnson County KS can take them home. Adopt a hobo

    Actually. they were riding the rails with that plan in mind, but THE streetcar only got them as far as Union Station!
