  1. the picture is right there dumb ass.

That's the wrong strategy to take and that's why I'm glad to see that Save the paseo is worried.

Why does it matter that King was here?

So what if he stopped in for a hamburger.

Problem is, when the people with save the paseo are challenged, their real racism shows.

  2. Wait, I thought MLK never visited KC? Thatg's the narrative around here. What happened????? I mean are you saying that the posters on here don't know what they're talking about??? Oh no!!!

  3. ^^^^^^ True.

  4. 7:34 the picture is faked you fool.

  5. 8:20...exactly. If it was real they would have used it a long time ago. Why do you think it just showed up now?

  6. It's not important, even the accounts say he just stopped through for one night and a quick meeting. What's more important is what the Northeast neighbors want. But whenever idiots get into a racial battle and act nasty, they sabotage people who actually did work to get this petition on the ballot.

  7. The name is Paseo and the city had no right to spend tax payers money on this racist anti white endeavor without a vote. Make the city tell us how much money goes for the use of MLK's name every year. The King family doesn't let people use his name for free. Every city that has a MLK street pays annually for it. This is a racial issue and nothing more.

  8. That is a picture of black leaders from Kansas City,KANSAS, not Missouri. I remember that visit and MLK spent his time in Kansas.

  9. ^^I doubt you remember geezer. That would've been a long time ago and you're really old so I'm gonna take a hard pass on your recollections gramps.

  10. He was never here, he was in Kansas City, KANSAS!
So let KCK name a street after him - or better still, give up their theft of our name and re-name the entire Town after him!

    MLKville, Kansas!
That should bring the bucks rolling in!

  11. It should be the PASEO bridge, not BOND.

  12. Hay 9:06. I do remember when MLK came to Kansas city, ks. It was in the winter of 1968. It almost went unnoticed except for a small news mention on TV that night. Nobody outside the Black community paid much attention to it.
It would be like an Al Sharpton visit to KC today-nobody would notice.

  13. Everyone I know is voting to save the paseo

  14. I don’t like either name. I think we should name it James Earl Ray Blvd.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Don't we have to PAY to use the name?

    ReplyDelete
  16. The save the Paseo people are black and white so no racism is involved, hell, alysia Canady was at their get together the other night in the crossroads and she’s even against the name change, always was.

It’s typical of you demmocreeps to scream racism every time you get your ass handed to you in a conversation, just admit you people are violent little pussies and move on.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That picture proves nothing, nothing to identify where it was taken, the fake news can’t even get the story right, now that’s racist right there.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Remember to vote yes to rename the street back to the Paseo.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, @11:48, we were, as you say all Republican, therefore "violent little pussies". The difference is that we have grown up, and therefore are no longer Republican dupes of the rich, and have started thinking for ourselves. If ever you mature mentally, you should try it for yourself.

  20. Hello! One more time, and this time please try to listen: THE CITY DOES NOT PAY A DIME TO ANYONE TO NAME A STREET AFTER MLK. PERIOD.

Nor was any "process" violated when the Council chose the name. There was plenty of community input over a YEAR'S time – and when the Council names a street, the residents are not entitled to a veto. Period.

Paseo is possibly the city's grandest street – but it is also a street that had no name. "Paseo" is simply the Spanish word for the French word "Boulevard". Kansas City has boulevards named after a British Prime Minister, a farmer whose heirs sold us part of the land, and unrepentant slaveowners. All white.

So all those folks who have gotten their panties up in a twist over naming a street with no name after a genuine American hero – Nobel Prize winner, civil rights leader and antiwar leader who was murdered while fighting for decent wages and conditions for members of an American labor union – seem to have an extraordinarily low bar when it comes to naming streets after old white men that few of them have ever heard of but an extremely high bar when it comes to naming a street after one of the great men of the 20th century – who happens to be black.

The fact of the matter is that people who begin statements with "I'm not racist but…" generally are.

  23. Veto - no. Following existing rules unless your wife and crew conveniently waive them - yes.

The petition is to be signed by no fewer than 50 residents of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall also include 75 percent of the property owners abutting that section of the street proposed to be honored.

  24. VOTE YES TO REMOVE MLK AND CHANGE IT BACK TO THE PASEO!

"... racist anti white endeavor ..."

"Hey, Bill, did you hear what those people in Kansas City did?"

"They named a street after Dr. King, & the local white men pitched a bitch about how they liked the older Spanish name."

    "What was the older name?"

    "Paseo"

"Paseo?!" "That's like saying your name is "Name"."

"What do they have against Dr. King?"

    "He was a black man."

"Are they still beating that racism horse?"

    ReplyDelete
  28. I saw a drag queen called Pussy Tourette perform at the old Cabaret club. Maybe we should name a street after her because she’s representative of a minority group and she visited KC once.

"Did you see what Kansas City did?'
    "No, what?"
"Their Nigger Mayor and a bunch of nigger Preachers illegally changed the name of a street to MLK Boulevard!"
"Wow, those Blacks are at it again! What happened?"
"The voters forced the City to change it back!"
"Good! Bet the coons rioted, though."
Nah, six or seen of them shot each other, and the Preachers had fits, but that's about all."
