Will Farmers Turn On Prez Trump?!?!

Apropos topic for this Heartland Sunday as KC is surrounded by rural agribiz and many farmers who are suffering harsh times despite good economic numbers. Take a look:

Amid Trump Tariffs, Farm Bankruptcies And Suicides Rise

Farmers have seen their incomes slashed due to factors outside of their control. However, tariffs imposed by Trump and China's retaliation are making their situation even direr. This has led to a rise in farm bankruptcies and multiple people warning about the increased stress leading to suicides.

  3. Farmers supported Trump, and he casually betrayed them. Just like he betrayed us on getting rid of Obama care and building the wall. Trump lied, and people died.

Those who live by the Trump die by the Trump.

  5. They lose their farms for a multitude of reasons, the only thing that kept them afloat was the gubmint giving them truckloads of money, during the dummocrap years they were paying them to not grow crops and now that they aren’t they can’t figure out how to farm, this is what happens when you don’t save for a rainy day. Too many farmers relied on the gubmint paying them, and it came back to haunt them.

  7. As usual, the election will come down to a choice between two candidates, and the Dems are moving in a direction likely to produce a candidate that even most Democrats won't vote for.
You can't beat something with nothing.

  8. But can you beat nothing with nothing?
Did the 80,000 voters in three States that decided the election in 2016 vote for Trump or against Clinton?
Does four years of getting nothing done equal re-electability?
    We'll find out in 2020.

  13. @1:28. You are a fool? Trump is the best thing that has happened. They will not vote for Democrats that will not support them. The tariffs hurt now.... it will bring profit in the future.

Farmers are the biggest recipients of handouts and perks and privilege than any group on record. They don't pay sales tax on things, they don't have to have license plates, they get huge money for CRP and don't have to do anything for it. When asked if they like NAFTA and GATT they say smugly; "it's good for agriculture." What about the rest of us? Did I mention ethanol? Next, to veterans they are worshipped. Should they be?
