TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY STREETCAR STALLED AFTER SUICIDAL WOMAN JUMPS TO HER TRAGIC DEATH NEAR TRAX!!!

Thanks to our blog community we expose an important municipal cover-up that offers a glimpse of real life inside the Kansas City loop.

To wit . . .

KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS WITNESS A HORRIFIC SUICIDE THAT STALLED THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR THIS WEEK!!!

Here's the word from a compassionate yet civic minded reader as the KANSAS CITY STREETCAR SUICIDE was somewhat confirmed by police tweets later in the week . ..

Earlier this week a woman jump from a building downtown and died. I saw the police wrapping up her body and putting it in the ambulance.

I know mainstream media don't normally cover suicides, but sometimes make an exceptions. This one should have been an exception, because it shut down the streetcar for well over an hour.

The suicide's not the story. The fragility of the streetcar is the story.

With respect to the human tragedy, the AWESOME TKC TIPSTER makes an important point as the proposed expansion will take the toy train to even more turbulent areas of Kansas City where police action & investigation is often part of the landscape and has the potential to thwart the entire rail system.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. This was very sad. Saw people standing around wondering what happened and there was no information from the streetcar authority. I hope it never comes to it but KC needs to learn how to better communicate with residents during a crisis.

    1. KC is all about secrets and nothing but happy news. Never changes, most of the stuff online and locally is just promotional content. I guess more trouble downtown and a lot of very dangerous people isn't something that we call news anymore, even though it impacts people on the street.

    2. I only wish that was an exaggeration, that's the kind of support it's going to need. Took the streetcar a year ago and noticed five police officers on my ride. I'm sure the bus line doesn't get that kind of protection.

  2. Tony, you're a worry-wart. There are no problems that a little armor plating and in-car SWAT teams can't handle. I'm going to sell the Benz and start riding the street car down to the office every day!

  3. sad about this woman but the only real streetcar suicide is the one that is happening to the kc budget. Over drawn and hanging by a thread because of all the money paid into this system.

That's why they want to make it free, so they can go begging to the Feds. The streetcar destroyed KC transit.

    1. You obviously know literally nothing about the streetcar.

  4. .....and, the bus went around the block.

  5. As if this was the first public suicide in Kansas City?
Relax. People have been offing themselves for a long time.
And remember: we only do "HAPPY NEWS" on TV. Even a dead cat or dog "passes away". They can't say "die". Too gloomy.

  6. "The suicide's not the story. The fragility of the streetcar is the story."

    The suicide is the story.

Also, the author's lack of coherent writing skills is noteworthy. "I know mainstream media don't normally cover suicides, but sometimes make an exceptions.

    A two-year-old communicates better.

  8. Wow. Such big news. A person died, but that's not the story, the streetcar is the story. How retarded. Kick-ass TKC insiders are the worst, the absolute worst and this waste of time proves it. Grow up!

  13. Oh No! Someone died but the story is the streetcar had to be delayed an hour!!! You hear that people?? A whole hour!!! My God!! This is really kick-ass insider stuff right here. Lamestream media isn't reporting the hour delay! Why?? What are they hiding?? Where's Sly?? Where's Trump?? This is big! Big! I say!!!

  14. You have to admire the streetcars wildly unprofitable business model.

  15. Very sad that she died but this raises an interesting question. Main Street further up the route is much more busy than Main Street downtown a lot more cross traffic I don't see any way the streetcar is going to be able to navigate these pants effectively. I see nearly every day on these streets and it's going to be very expensive if the streetcar takes out two lanes and makes things even more crowded. Not going to work.

    1. It'll be a new money-making business model for the broke people off Broadway. Hit the street car get a Payday. I don't agree with this kind of mentality but I've seen it play out in other cities that put a big Mash Transit effort in the middle of town without thinking that some people just saw it as a rolling ATM.

  16. I saw somebody mentioned that this was reported elsewhere but I haven't seen any of those new stories. I know that the news just write down all of their scripts but very few people watch TV news anymore and are much likely to see it on social media. Nothing there so far glad that somebody called this out thank-you tkc tipsters.

  17. Always know when the star is reading Tony blog because they get so pissed at bitchy. I guess they don't realize that they're a multimillion-dollar operation competing against some doofus in his mom's basement. And they're still losing. I read Tony because this s*** is funny. And so few people in this city really have any kind of sense of humor anymore. Most of the Facebook Reddit or Twitter stuff is just people being really angry or trying to be clever with dumbass memes. Here I get a little info Joker too and maybe if I'm lucky some big ol titties. Not bad for the price which is nothing hahaha.

  18. I find it very offensive that is suicide was reported this way. I know that this blog tells jokes and has a craft sense of humor but come on a woman guide and we need to be aware that there is real suffering out there and there are people who need our help. There was a better way to deal with this rather than the tasteless headline. Let's show a little class and a little kindness in the future I like that this information is public because people nwed to know but it should also be addressed properly.

Don't worry things might look up for you maybe Trump will lose in 2020 and you can ride the streetcar and be happy. Either way weird that you try to answer every comment too many here for you to keep up with so I guess you're going to have to find a new hobby Maybe knitting would be more productive it's going to get cold soon.

  22. Build the streetcar exention. We need more transit in KC, not less.

    1. It's not transit. It's a horrifyingly overpriced amusement park ride with no revenue stream.

  23. Typical City business. Sly and his council thugs spending time figuring out how to get free rides for their district members on the Street Car. That was step 1. Step 2 will be to get a street car extension to 18th and Vine.
All of this planning going on when the city was moving to an all time high in homicide rates.

  24. A modern form of transportation does not have follow tracks.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd probably also commit suicide if I had to ride the streetcar to the Plaza when that extension gets built. It will be dreadfully slow and probably stuck with a delivery truck on Main St. blocking it from moving half the time. Ride the Max bus folks.

  26. KCFD Employee9/12/19, 6:55 PM

The guy saw the dead body being loaded into a ambulance? I dont think so!!! The Coroners office picks up dead bodies in a case like this - not the ambulance, and for deaths at home that are not suspicious, the funeral home will come and pick up the dead body. I can promise you that he did not see that woman being loaded into a ambulance in KCMO.

  28. 12:59: Buses are transit. The streetcar is nostalgia.

    ReplyDelete
  29. When was the last time Main St, Broadway, or I-70 for that matter, make some revenue?

It's infrastructure. It's not there to make a profit.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Fragility of the streetcar because it wasn't open for an hour?

In that case, the entire block of Main Street was fragile too.

Dumb take on a suicide. Try again.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I guess it depends if we want to take the streetcar seriously as a form of transportation. If it's just a tourist trolley that is just for fun in an hour delay is no big deal. But for people who have to go to work or need to be on time to a meeting an hour delay is unacceptable and renders any form of Transit unusable especially considering that a bus could have just went around the block to get to its destination.

  31. We call it a smart city but then there is no communications, no clarity, no responsiveness, no initiative.

People should know within five to ten minutes the situation. What did all the money get wasted on kiosks for if they can't give dynamic updates on what is going on.

It was an ill considered, soon to be obsoleted mess run by people out of their depth. Typical.

  32. There have been lots of accidents, saw the Streetcar run into a fork lift. Saw a car that really was hit by the Streetcar, enough so that the car looked close to totaled, this was a late Saturday night type deal. In both cases Streetcar unable to proceed, but strangely there is never a deficiency for
the say only it is wonderful Kool Aid drinkers.

Drink up, the public is going to get information that hasn't been all processed by the posers of City hall.
