A Maryland-based hotel franchise announced plans Tuesday to build a new hotel in downtown Kansas City. Choice Hotels International Inc., a publicly traded company that operates the Cambria hotel brand, plans to build a six-story 149-room Cambria Hotel at the southwest corner of Ninth and Wyandotte streets.
