SUNDAY NIGHT TAX RELIEF: JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE TAX CUT!?!?

Evening presser makes us a bit skeptical of this move, here's the word, tell us what you think . . .

Jackson County Executive proposes $3 million property tax cut

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. is announcing his proposal for a $3 million property tax cut for Jackson County. Everyone that pays county property taxes would benefit from the County Executive’s proposal.

Notably, if this proposal is adopted by the County Legislature, nearly 200,000 taxpayers would pay less to Jackson County this year than they did in 2018. The County Executive is proposing a one-time reduction to the county’s property tax levies. The County Executive is proposing the maximum amount that the County can rollback their property tax levies that will still generate the revenue necessary to support the County’s 2019 budget.

“Since becoming County Executive, I have committed myself to ignoring the noise and focusing on doing what is in the best interest of the County. Quite simply, that is why I am proposing this substantial tax cut,” said Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. “My proposal will put $3 million in the pockets of Jackson County taxpayers.”

In 2018, a homeowner with a $100,000 home value paid Jackson County $133.25 in property taxes. Under the County Executive’s proposal, an individual with the same home value would pay approximately $111.64 in 2019, an approximate 16 percent decrease.

The reduced property tax amount is the result of the County Executive’s proposed tax cut, as well as the levy rollback required by the Missouri State Constitution, commonly referred to as the Hancock Amendment.

“I am hopeful that members of the Legislature will approve my recommended proposal and that other taxing jurisdictions will consider doing the same,” White said.

  6. That’s all fine and dandy but what happens after this “one time deal”? This is nothing more than smoke and mirrors because they still haven’t fixed the main problem of the flawed county appraisals. This changes nothing.

By the way, where’s Nicole Galloway? Shouldn’t she be auditing the county or does she not audit demmocrim run cities and counties???

  7. Frankie boy thought this up while drinking and playing free golf, all on the tax payers dime of course, hey, somebody gotta pay for all this free stuff!

  8. $100,000 home value paid Jackson County $133.25 in property taxes.

Where the hell did they come up with this number?

  9. $133.25

    ROFL he's serious?

  10. Yes Frank please tell us where we can find a $100K home with a $133.25 a year property tax bill.

    All ears

  11. This last ditch effort is so obvious. No way the legislature will pass it. Did Franks handlers come up with this ?

  12. $100,000 home value paid Jackson County $133.25 in property taxes.

Where the hell did they come up with this number?

From the tax bills. You pay the county a certain amount, the city you live in a certain amount, the school district you live in a certain amount. The county just handles the money and redistributes it. The county doesn't keep your entire payment.

Are you guys morons, or what? I'm guessing "you're morons." It's stunning you would take the time to Express your ignorance about how the system works so freely.

  13. RECALL FRANK WHITE!!! ELIMINATE COMBAT TAX!!!!

  14. 5:26 AM "The county just handles the money and redistributes it"

LOL well at least you explained one thing correctly.

  15. The County taxes (example $133.25) where I live is the least of my problems. If my city tax & especially my school tax levy etc. is based on the County property accessment, then all these other taxes will go up proportionately with any increase. That's where the real rub is. I am already paying $1,802.00 total property taxes on a $105,000 (50 year old) home. I am retired with a diminished income and an ever increasing tax burden. I haven't heard any talk about this increasing all the other taxes. Hope I am wrong about this. 5:26 AM you can berate me too if it makes you feel better about yourself.

  16. Yes this will certainly help everyone that are stuck with fraudulent assessments.

    What a deal

  17. Indict Frank.

  18. Frank is lying again to throw the scent of his deception off the trail. I wouldn't believe him anymore even if he said "I have a golden glove from my time with the Royals".
Recall this asshole. Get control you your future by getting rid of him.

  19. Frank White is wrong. A person with $100,000 home did not pay $133 in property taxes in 2018. It's $1,300. I know because I paid it.

  20. Divide n conquer. Everyone gonna save 12.00 so it's OK, so all you greedy slugs fighting your 2000.00 increase shut up.

  21. 8:00 AM: Jackson County Tax was just a portion of your total bill. You paid many more line tax items, mainly schools. This proposed 3 million rollback is nothing compared to the fact the increased assessment bar has been permanently raised going forward. He is just proposing to defer a little of the county's portion temporarily for political purposes to look like he is concerned for the taxpayers. Again no exact details.

  22. Just asking, does the county assessment dictate the city's assessment? If it does some of us are multi screwed! $12 bucks off an approx $1300 total! Keep it and feed those kids on TV for a year. Just as about as believable as Frank saying he doing what's best for the people of Jackson County.

  23. If you really think this is going to be a 'tax cut', you are even stupider than the people who voted the go bond taxes in.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tax cut or not, there is no going back. They planned a budget several years into the future then raised the property values to meet the budget. If it gets too bad for those who can in no way pay, especially in the urban core, they may have to trot out the vote gettin subsidies. Not in anyway political, Not! Something or someones gotta give and give and give...

  25. Frank is scared

    ReplyDelete
  26. Slick move by the puppet masters pulling Frank's strings. Dodge, deflect. Hope it gets the Combat heat off his back. Does nothing to address the cluster that is the 2019 assessment. Hancock amendment would reduce that amount.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Is it true that if county property assessment doubles as some have, does city, school and other taxes double also?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Probably- there based on your property value Frank and gang just jacked'em up
